- BPBreanna PerryJul 17, 20251.0Do yourself a favor, use a different title company. Seller chose First American Title to close with and in my experience, the communication here was severely lacking. I called a week in advance of our close to get the closing details, left a voicemail, no response, sent a secure message, no response, called again two days later, no response, sent another message, no response, called the gal's assistant the next day and then finally received a call that they didn't have my closing documents, and this was 4 business days from closing. Also they said they would have my closing check a couple days after funding and its been 10 days now, still haven't heard anything. I guess its time for another round of phone tag...
- KAKim AMay 2, 20211.0We sold our home in chaotic 2020, we had three different offers. The first escrow held by American was a hardship withdrawal so the escrow funds went back to the buyers. American T sent it and all of the paperwork back to us - we had to send it all back. No big deal. The second offer changed their minds so the third offer was accepted. This is where they went completely in the ditch - during payoff no payment was issued to the mortgage company - we had to wire that back to American so they could wire it; the payoff payment was a week late. It cost us $25 to make the wire which we were assured would be reimbursed - “the next day.” It took five more phone calls in 6 weeks to get reimbursed. Now, we have received the end of the year tax document - it shows the full sales price as our Gross Proceeds. NEVER AGAIN!!

We paid cash for our home, all they did was process it but when we left their office we felt as though they thought we were beneath them. Btw the good reviews of this place are realtors and they don't have a choice but to give each other good reviews.
