  Breaking up with Capital One after 13+ years as a customer! In the past, I'd sing the praises of this company after a customer service representative sent my family flowers when my mother passed. I've also traveled around the World using my Capital One cards. I'm heartbroken by the now terrible Customer Service. The recent changes to the AutoPay feature resulted in Capital One taking 2x my payment. When I reached out to correct the issue by simply refunding one of the payments for over $6000, they stated it would take up to 15 days between processing and snail mailing a refund check with no other option to speed up the correction to their error. To escalate this issue, I was told I could send a letter to a mailing address or use a FAX. This is intentional use of outdated technology to deter customer feedback and service. I'm so sad to be losing this relationship after all these years. I see other businesses that are prioritizing and aiming to delight their customers and so I'll take my business elsewhere. I'm so disappointed.

  I recently joined tmoble and after switching from Verizon wireless. And discovered a collaboration of capital one and tmoble with visa . I applied because there was information on benefits of paying your bill thru your capital one tmoble visa. After getting to the end of the process I was asked for my full social security number. Now I was assured there will be no impact to my credit score due to what's called a soft credit check. But against my better judgment followed through with my ss# and I was sent a email stating I was not pre approved? I have done many soft credit checks and never was asked for my full social security number? I will be monitoring my credit . Update 11/19 yes we are required to give the last 4 or full social security number for pre-approval process . With no impact to score! I found out because I Google it ! No capital one did not respond so two stars remain!

  My family will be closing all credit cards owned by Capital One. Family member is an essential employee with the federal government, worked without a paycheck and when he contacted Capital One, their customer service representative (multiple) stated there was NOTHING they would do to assist him even though he pays the balance in full every month and has had the card for 16 plus years. On their website in a banner at the top of their page states if you are impacted by the government shutdown contact customer service for assistance. There is NO ASSISTANCE! Shame on you Capital One.

  After 10 years of being a Capital One cardholder, I've decided it's time to close my account. My experience with Capital One has generally been positive — the card helped me manage bills responsibly and I always made sure payments were on time. However, after more than a decade of loyalty, I'm disappointed that I've never been considered for a credit limit increase. l've spoken with several representatives who explained that their terms require an almost perfect credit history to qualify for an increase. While I may not have a flawless record, I have remained a loyal customer through the years — even when many others closed their accounts. It's discouraging to realize that loyalty and consistency seem to hold little value when company policies are so rigid. I've had this card since my early 20s and am now approaching my 40s. It's difficult to part ways with something that has been part of my financial journey for so long, but it's clear that Capital One no longer aligns with my needs. For those considering applying, please be aware: unless your credit is perfect, Capital One may not reward your commitment. Unfortunately, I've learned that loyalty doesn't outweigh policy.

  Capital One: Total Mission Failure Another day, another Charlie Foxtrot from Capital One. The rep's English was barely intelligible -- like trying to decode a broken radio transmission in the middle of a sandstorm. He refused to help, claiming my only listed phone number was "wrong" for verification. Roger that, genius. Capital One Core Values: 1. Excellence 2. Do the Right Thing 3. Customer Success What a joke ... TOTAL MISSION FAILURE! Then this clown forced me to send my ID and a utility bill like I was under interrogation. Said it could take 10 days to "verify" my account. Meanwhile, my wife's in Italy after her mother's recent death -- without access to the card. That's not just bad service, that's a full-blown humanitarian crisis caused by bureaucratic incompetence. It has now been two weeks since they froze my new credit card, four days past the 1-10 days promised, so it is clear that this bank is HARD-BROKE, TANGO UNIFORM, SNAFU. These people operate like animals--no integrity, no empathy, no accountability, no clue. Capital One's fraud alerts are constant false alarms, forcing me to CALL every damn time to confirm that, yes, I'm actually using my own card. I'm done with these clowns AND I AM NOT LAUGHING. I'll be pulling all our money and cards out ASAP. Capital One needs to stand down, retrain their troops with native-English-speaking reps, and stop treating customers like enemy combatants.
