- PSPascal SleeperNov 8, 20253.0So get this. Today I came in to see how much it’d cost to ship my acoustic guitar inside of a hard case. The quote they gave me was 122 and said I’d save $34 if I had it inside of a cardboard box so it’d be easier to set on the rollers. So that’s exactly what I did. I went to a guitar store and got a cardboard box for $15. Brought it back to this fed ex, and after they measure the box they said the price was 144. On a store clerk’s advice I went and did something that just made my shipment more expensive. Out of frustration I opted not to set my package at fedex. The only reason I’m not leaving a 1 star review is because I’ve shipped from this location before and they were positive experiences.

I have to wait sometimes, but nothing out of the ordinary. The staff are always helpful and prompt, acknowledging you when you come through the door. =======Start Specifics Re: Negative Reviews======= If you put aside some of the older reviews, a lot of the negative ones seem to be cases of ‘user error’. Austin, I am talking to you. Jake, I am glad you can offer pro tips for shipping items. Here’s one: if you bring in a box that won’t work (here, USPS, or UPS) they will ask you to go get one that will work or will offer to sell you one. If that qualifies them as ‘snake oil salesmen’, I guess I am confused. But, yeah, sure, bring a Sharpie and some tape. Understaffed? You do realize this is 2025 (or was 2023, or 2022), right? How many people do you want to work at one time? Five? Ten? I have never seen fewer than two people on staff and often have seen three people working at peak times. For this sort of business in this town, that seems more than adequate. Rude? Sure, I can imagine that staff could occasionally be a bit short with customers. But I also think that—when reading some of these sorts of reviews—that the problem might originate at the point of origin (hint: it’s you, not them). Your package didn’t arrive on time, Colby? Or are you having trouble with your delivery address, little fox? You realize how shipping works, right? Not their fault. Not tech savvy? Not really their fault either. This isn’t a public library or a learning annex. And to what extent does your age matter? Just odd. =======End Specifics Re: Negative Reviews======= If you look at the other (reasonable and rational) reviews, you can see why I think the average rating is low. And that is what happens when keyboard warriors, young and old, take out their rage on another business doing something very basic . . . and doing it fairly well. Recommended, especially if you understand the purpose of the business.
