- SJShanel JohnApr 12, 20251.0Please please if you can find funding anywhere else please do so. I took a loan and totally regretted it. They charge an admin fee $150.00 for every thing they do. I wouldn’t recommend taking a loan from BDC. It is sad as they should be helping small businesses in canada not taking advantage of small businesses.

- SAShahbaz AnjumFeb 16, 20221.0We're coming out of the Pandemic. Small Businesses are struggling. The Government of Canada says that it's helping small businesses with financial support to help them bounce back from the impacts of the Pandemic. To a certain extent, it has. But when we contact BDC (claiming to be a Government Bank), their Business Development Managers (BDMs) still continue to follow the qualification criteria that used to exist before the Pandemic. I've been trying to grow my business in spite of the impacts of Pandemic. All I asked BDC was 3-months of working capital to survive my 8-year old business which is on the verge of a closure, but the BDM refused to help me out because my credit was maxed out (as a result of my personal effort to keep my business afloat). He didn't even want to review my Credit Report, which would inform the bank about my financial discipline. BDC, being a Government Bank, having a social responsibility to support smal businesses, should come out of their out-dated method of evaluating clients by their credit score and evaluate business based on their credit report and the business needs. Online Application process doesn't always help !!! My request to BDC and the Government of Canada is to review their policies and customize them with a view to help small businesses survive the impacts of Covid-19.
