When faced with having to pay more to completely redo our financing in order to keep working on the title that American couldn’t (wouldn’t?) produce to close the sale, we just gave up. The. American wouldn’t refund our earnest money which might be legal but I find completely unethical since we essentially lost our financing due to their lazy work ethic. If there was a reason for the delay, it was never communicated to us and my realtor and finance agent both were frustrated with a severe lack of communication. Both my realtor and I never intend to do business with this company again and I would highly suggest you don’t either. FirsTitle seems to be much more qualified and moral.
