Instead of calling to verify my mortgage account they paid off an auto loan I had at the same bank. When this mistake was found no accountability was taken on behalf of First American. In fact, all of the blame was placed on me, leaving me with the repercussions (financially) of their mistake. So if you want to rely on professionals to handle your closing, I would not chose this company.

They were rude, didnt provide a sufficient title insurance transfer discount, constantly got the closing date wrong and forced me to prepay a water bill or withold several hundred dollars (in three home transactions that was a first for us). Very negative experience with this closing agent. It was clear they were working on behalf of the buyers.
