The payroll system broke down and was unusable while my staff was not getting paid. It was heartbreaking and I personally had to venmo small loans to get them through the week. They do not care about small business and I highly suggest using any other company.
- AHAlexandra van den HeeverFeb 21, 20251.0I strongly advise small businesses to stay away from ADP — we had been working with a small payroll service that dissolved and transferred us to ADP. In the year and a half we were with ADP we were completely neglected. We are a seasonal business with only 10 employees, and only operate payroll for 1 month out of the year. Despite having 7 months of lead time and multiple reminders and check-ins from me, our ADP reps did not take steps to set up our account in time, so our employees were paid late, which put our business at risk. Then our account was terminated without warning because we didn’t meet the minimum threshold for payroll activity - mind you, we only operate payroll once a year and our reps knew that, but not once was I made aware of this policy. We decided not to reactivate because ADP has continually put us at risk. However, we needed our year-end tax paperwork done - I was told by ADP that our account, before it was terminated, had not actually been completely finalized by our ADP rep so they were not able to complete the year-end paperwork. Now my accountant needs to be responsible for this. ADP is not small business friendly - I will never work with them again.
