Renewal Process Double-Charges Existing Customers
Title: Be cautious — renewal structure results in double-charging existing clients
We’ve been a Rapid Finance customer for about a year, with perfect payment history and a strong business track record. Our experience with our first two loans was positive, which made what happened next extremely disappointing.
When we asked for a renewal, Rapid structured the new loan in a way that re-applies full financing fees on top of the existing balance — even though we already paid the original financing costs on that balance. In other words, we were asked to pay fees twice on the same money.
This isn’t about lowering a payoff or asking for special treatment. It’s simply about not being charged again for funds that have already had fees applied. Their leadership confirmed that this is their “policy since inception,” meaning every renewal double-charges clients by treating already-financed balances as brand new.
For a company that advertises itself as a partner to small businesses, the approach felt extremely predatory. Instead of rewarding clients who repay well and are in good standing, their renewal model ends up penalizing repeat customers and making the cost exponentially higher.
If you plan to stay with Rapid beyond your first loan, be aware of how renewals work. I strongly recommend comparing offers with other lenders before committing, especially if you expect to refinance or renew in the future.

Liars, First they have us sign good terms and then go back and say “Nevermind, after underwriting we can’t get you those terms” and this was already signed on our end, Then later on we are have some business struggles with the economy and need to work out a deal after they file us in a lawsuit, we make a deal and start doing payments and our representative from RP tells me we are no longer a part of any lawsuit, yet fast forward a few months of making payments and we get notice of default. These people are liars that wanted us to make payments and still default us. Disgusting.

Rapid Finance is the real deal and Ross Winston is the realer deal. I applied one day, was on the phone the next day and was funded that same day. Ross went above and beyond working well outside of regular business hours and going way further than the extra mile to get this done. He made serval unnecessary phone calls and really went out of his way to close this while also making sure I was comfortable since it was my first time being funded. On top of that, he is a straight forward no nonsense type of guy but he comes from a place of genuine service. Can’t wait to work with Rapid Finance and Ross again in the near future!
