Dealing with Michelle and First American Title in Tampa was a much more pleasant and enjoyable experience. Michelle explained everything in detail and answered my wife's and my questions. In between, we had very comfortable natural conversations. My wife and I came out of this experience very happy and satisfied with the process. Thanks Michelle and First American Title!
- NJNuwelta Jean-BaptisteJun 21, 20191.0I would give 0 stars if I could. The seller paid for the title so that’s how I got involved with them. My lender also stated they were the worst to work with. They never contacted me, I always chased them and was never available. I would have to call repeatedly. I don’t care how busy you are, you make time for customers. I am supposed to be closing on the house on 6/24. I literally just found out from the realtor that the title company has known about an open permit for 3 weeks. Supposedly the seller found out on Monday and was trying to get it resolved. My lender didn’t find out until I forwarded the email 10 minutes ago. Aka Sylvia did not tell them either. I called Sylvia twice since finding this out, but of course she’s on another call. This is a home you’re purchasing. YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS TITLE COMPANY. Also, their systems were breached and exposed customers data, including ssn recently. Google it if you don’t believe me.

- DND NorstrandFeb 26, 20181.0First American Title identified an unpaid water bill which, in Pasco County, can prevent me the new owner (me) from being able to start service. I was told by the selling Realtor that this was taken care of, but it wasn't. First American Title, is supposed to help ensure a clear title, however, instead of getting verification of the issue being cleared or holding the overdue amount at closing, they sent an email stating that because they notified me of the issue, they are not responsible for the issue any more. The same situation seems to be surrounding the expired permit for the roof. The sellers agent claims it is resolved but the county claims that it's not. How was a closing done without a clear title? Does a title company really just do a couple searches online and sends an email stating they wash their hands of the situation and still convey the title?
