- PHPhil HardwickAug 13, 20251.0Recently closed on our house in Ault, CO and our real estate agent chose First American Title in Greeley, CO. Dealing with escrow agent, Leslie Johnson, was the worst of the worst people I have ever had to deal with! Examples; I informed her that our mortgage company had recently paid our taxes and could we remove that from the closing cost. Her reply was " Might be but treasures website not posted so we cannot do anything with that " . That was her complete response. Because we were closing on the 6th of June and we would be making another mortgage payment before closing, I asked her when she would be updating the payoff amount. Her response, "I can have processing update the payoff for ya and if taxes are posted, I can reflect that, if not, I pay and then you will be refunded from either the county or me based on who’s payment gets posted first. Tis the season 😊😊 LOL ". Never answered my question of 'when?'. I asked to have contact information for her supervisor and she never replied! The final horrible experience I had with her was at closing. I asked for a transaction receipt for the wire transfer to our new title company. She had a big ugly scene with me, in front of seven other people, about how I was stupid for me to ask and that she is Professional". She never provided the receipt. There are many more examples of her cavalier and unprofessional attitude. Too many to list here. I would totally avoid this office! She is a piece of work. I don't recall ever feeling so angry and someone I am paying.
