C.Sep 30, 20221.0Being a habitual historic preservationist and old house restorer, I have purchased many homes over the years and this was probably my 20th or so escrow- I did not select First American; the seller did. That was a huge mistake. This was the worst escrow I've experienced. My officer was Teresa Alves and the assistant was Christi Harvey. I never received any communication whatsoever from Teresa. Christi sent an initial email and then left town for about 4-5 days while we had a 7 day close. All of my emails went unanswered. No one responded to anything. None of my questions were answered. I took an hour to fill out their online opening package which was clear no one even looked at. I know this because she was emailing and calling me on the day of closing asking for information that I had already given in that initial package that I filled out. Because of the lack of communication and their low ratings online, I felt VERY nervous about wiring money to this company, especially because my deal was a cash sale and it was a large amount of funds. Why I asked why we couldn't close on the scheduled closing day as planned, Christi coped an attitude and talked to me like I was some kind of rude Karen... I still never heard one word from Teresa. I would never recommend this company or these agents/officers to anyone. If your agent recommends First American Title, my opinion is that you should insist on ANYONE else...
