I recently purchased a franchise and my account manager, Tara Gupta, made the loan process extremely difficult and stressful. I had to chase for updates constantly, only received funds days before closing (despite applying weeks in advance), and she applied for a loan amount 68% higher than what I was approved for (some better pre-underwriting would have been nice). It then took a full month just to get a partial application fee refunded because your fee depends on the size of the loan. For a bank that claims to support entrepreneurs, BDC made the process stressful and uncertain instead of helpful.
