- KHK HartFeb 18, 20211.015 years ago, my family chose First American to provide services involving 2 home purchases. My mother's last name was slightly (legally) changed from mine & my brothers. We were all listed in some manner in the docs & present at the signing. The documents are all technically incorrect. As I prepare to sell my home now, it is something I would like corrected. I called the SCW office on 2/15/21 & left a message. I called again on 2/18. 'Nicole' answered & in pressured speech, insisted I get to the 'to the point'. I requested someone else. She left me on the line for 5 minutes, I hung up, which was her goal. Well done. Apparently First American Title has no interest in addressing problems in their paperwork, past, present, & what problems it my cause in the future. Steer away from these 'service providers'. DETAILS are important on legal docs... First American Title doesn't care. They got paid; out of sight, out of mind. ****Upon reading the First American Title official response to my comments above, I immediately emailed them with a request to identify who I was communicating with by name and continuing the discussion. It has been CRICKETS for 5 days and counting. They have validated my remarks with their 'bad faith' response. Cynical insincerity coupled with empty rhetoric regarding sloppy legal document preparation, speaks for itself. You've been warned. ***I have finally received attention from First American Title that has corrected this issue. The woman who contacted me was the initial preparer (!), was serious minded, & gracious. I was so happy with her response & quick action & am considering using her for my near future sale. She made a mistake, I wasn't mad...just wanted an efficient correction...she was on it. Thx.
