booked a 50-minute deep tissue massage, but the massage itself lasted closer to 35 minutes and did not feel like deep tissue—more of a light, relaxation-focused massage, even though I shared specific areas to focus on. I understand I arrived 2 minutes late, but there was no clear communication that the 50 minutes included time to change or settle in. The process (locker room, robe, being brought to the room) made it feel like there was time, yet the service started around 12:14 and I was back in the lounge by 12:52. I’ve been getting massages for over 20 years, and typically you either receive the full time you paid for or expectations are clearly communicated. Overall, the customer service and experience did not match the cost or the aesthetic of the space. It felt like you’re primarily paying for the ambiance, not the service. Unfortunately, I would not return.

I rarely write reviews, but given this experience - I needed to. I received an $150 giftcard for my birthday from my girlfriends, which I thought was beyond generous. After looking at the website, I found that it was necessary for the price point of almost all services. I booked a 50 minute massage session and cupping for an additional $30, it totaled out to $155 when I selected confirm. When I arrived, I was notified that I was going to have $37 charged to my card on file with 0 explanation as to why (they add a 20% gratuity with no explanation of this anywhere online or in-person). I then received a rushed tour of the spa, and found myself confused about how to lock the lockers and found the locker room itself to be poorly designed and awkward, and couldn't get changed fast enough between arriving and leaving. I then entered the waiting room which had a nice ambience with a serve yourself display of snacks. For the price point, I was surprised that this was the case. I then was grabbed by my massage therapist who gave little to no direction on what I was to do (this was my first massage in ages), and as she left the room for an excess of what felt like 10+ minutes, I felt uncomfortable and unsure. When she returned and begun the massage, the massage table squeaked throughout the entirety.. not exactly the relaxing vibe one plans for. She stated "that concludes your massage" and left eagerly with no instruction on my next steps upon leaving. Upon returning to the desk, I stated that I never received my $30 cupping, they didn't apologize or offer to provide my service but said they would return $30 of my $37 gratuity that was automatically applied, which was somewhat appalling. However, joke was on me, because they still charged my card the full $37 despite the sub par costumer service. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Wonderful experience! The spa is on the lower level, and it's nice and quiet and dark down there. Everything smelled so nice---from the essential oil diffusers throughout the spa to the robes. The waiting area was very nice--they had a little variety of snacks, water, and offered tea and wine. Unique was my massage therapist and did a great job. The table was nice and heated, and I loved the hot towels and peppermint oil Unique had. The staff were very friendly. Note: Make sure you scan the QR code at check out to get your parking validated. Also keep in mind a 20% gratuity is added automatically to your total. Definitely recommend! Plus, you're in a great location. I made sure to stop at The Lip Bar and Avalon Bakery after. :)

I booked a massage for my boyfriend’s birthday along with a Deluxe Hydrafacial for myself at Woodhouse Spa. When we arrived, everything started off smoothly, we were greeted, taken to the changing rooms, and brought to the relaxation area. Unfortunately, that’s where the experience began to decline. A front desk staff member informed me that my scheduled aesthetician was having car trouble and would not be able to perform my Hydrafacial, but they had a backup aesthetician available for a different anti-aging facial. Before going into the dressing room, I specifically asked if we could still add a quick dermaplane and was reassured multiple times that this would not be a problem. Once the backup aesthetician took me back, she immediately informed me they were not equipped to offer dermaplaning at all, leaving me disappointed a second time and feeling misled. The service itself felt rushed and lacked communication; she applied several products without explaining what they were or what she was doing. I also got the impression that being added to her schedule last minute frustrated her. When checking out, I voiced that I did not appreciate being told conflicting information about the dermaplane. They did apply a discount and later offered 60% off my Hydrafacial for a future visit, which I appreciated, but by that point the trust was already broken. I was also given inconsistent explanations about why my original aesthetician was unavailable, which further added to my concern. Overall, the lack of transparency, communication, and consistency made what should have been a relaxing, special experience incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience has made us decide not to return. To add to this terrible experience I woke up with an incredibly itchy face.
