  What a great experience, Hannia was professional and knowledgeable. I had major damage and needed color correction. The end result was better then I imagined. Color looks great and such a stylish cut, very satisfied.

  I came in this week and asked for a big chop a a wolf cut, and it didn’t turn out exactly as I had hoped. I won’t mention the stylist because it’s definitely partly my fault for just saying wolf cut and not communicating much else or showing pictures of wolf cuts and pointing out what I like and dislike. I ended up calling and asking if it would be possible to come back in to change some things. I am very glad I did, or else I would’ve never met Zac. I have been getting a wolf cut for years and it is very difficult to find a stylist who can do a good wolf cut. It’s always either not enough layers, or layers are too long, or layers look too blunt, or the he layers don’t blend into the bangs well. I’ve left many salons crying. Thankfully the initial stylist did a fine haircut, it just wasn’t a wolf cut, so there was still plenty to work with. I asked for someone who is known for doing good shags or wolf cuts, and they recommended Zac. Zac gave me the BEST wolf cut I have ever had. Like I try to keep my expectations low since it’s definitely a more difficult cut, but Zac has set the bar pretty damn high. He did exactly what I was envisioning. My hair perfectly tapers into a V shape, my bangs are blending perfectly into the layers, the length of the layers are absolutely perfect. I don’t think I have ever been this satisfied with a haircut. He was also just a really chill person and a pleasure to talk to. I don’t really have curly hair, and I’ve made many attempts at forcing my hair to be more wavy/curly to no avail. Tried the TikTok plopping trend, didn’t work for me. Zac showed me a way of blow drying my hair with a diffuser that I hadn’t seen before, and showed me how to get the most perfect voluminous waves that are perfect for this cut, which I didn’t even know was attainable with my hair. I am so glad I went back and I am very happy that they were extremely understanding and didn’t charge me for the second cut.

  Expect to pay 50% of your services if you wake up with a fever and don’t want to get a haircut when you’re actively sick. Perhaps I care more about the health and wellbeing of their stylists and customers more than they do? I am so disappointed in how the salon handled my cancellation this morning. I’ve come to this salon a handful of times since I moved to Frederick 5 years ago and have referred a number of people to the salon over the years. I woke up very sick this morning and decided to do the right thing by canceling my appointment and avoiding spreading this to anyone else. The receptionist informed me of the cancellation policy and after a bit of back and forth explaining that I was sick, she said her manager advised her that I was to be charged 50% of the service because it was less than 24 hours notice. Also- the salon is closed Sunday so I’m not sure how any Monday appointment could provide 24 hours notice. I will certainly not be returning to this salon and will be sharing this experience with others I know go there. A salon that doesn’t offer flexibility for their customers especially for illness is not a salon for me. Also beware of other people that might be coming to appointments actively sick because they don’t want to be charged 50%.

She remained fully engaged throughout, communicated with precision and clarity, and ensured I was completely satisfied with the services provided.   I went to New York New York Salon for the first time today, it is a beautiful salon and I had a wonderful experience! I went in for cut and color, my stylist was Jill. She was amazing! She’s currently still in training but she listened to my concerns about my hair (how to protect it and keep the color fresh), was fun and friendly, she asked what I was looking to do today and gave me some of her own suggestions. I like more fun hair colors but ones that are toned down enough to be suitable for work. The color she mixed (red & purple) turned out beautifully! She had the skills to cut my hair into an angeled bob with undercut and that also turned out great! I definitely enjoyed my “me” time today and will be returning, to see Jill again in 6 weeks!
