  I have been seeing Ian at Salon Lofts for nearly 2 years and he is the best hairstylist and colorist I have ever gone to. I like to change the color of my hair up a lot and Ian is great at sharing what he thinks before we jump in, does a great job sharing with me the realistic timeframe of making these changes, and works very hard to prevent damage to my hair as we go. He is attentive to detail, knows his stuff, and very artistically talented. I highly recommend Ian for anyone that wants to work with a seasoned and talented hairstylist that’s aware of the latest and greatest techniques when it comes to hair care and color.

  I'm not that person who gets their hair done regularly, so when I made the decision to do so after almost a year of not having given my locks any attention, I did a lot of research before I carefully and confidently selected Jeffrey Carson. Made my appointment for a cut and balayage (my first time trying out the balayage) at 11am Friday 3/5 and 5 total automated texts and emails (the last text and email sent at exactly the 24 hour mark by the way) were all I received from him in the 2 weeks from the time I booked to when I headed up from Greenwood to the appointment. Life happens and sometimes you just have to adapt and overcome, I ended up running late (which is a rarity for me) and had no way to let him know (unlike most people in this state, I do not use my phone while driving and I wasn't at any stop lights long enough to check my phone or fire off a text quickly). I get to the light at River Road and 86th to turn into Salon Lofts and was finally able to access my phone and the exchange you see transpired at the light and in the parking lot of Salon Lofts. First of all, at no point before my appointment did he even try to contact me to thank me for choosing him or to schedule a consultation or even discuss a game plan although I did tell him what I wanted in detail when I booked. He knew what colors and style I was seeking for the balayage before I was set to arrive, although we never spoke beforehand. I've had former hairdressers consult with me in the past and have been told this is still indeed a thing that's done in the beauty industry. The fact he never contacted me personally didn't sit well with me or give me any warm fuzzies but figured his work would make up for that, per the bio on his page. Next, no mention anywhere in the texts, emails, or his site as of the date of my appointment on any fee, just a $25 cancellation/rebook fee within 24 hours. I arrived, albeit 10 minutes late, my feet hit the pavement of the parking lot and I could not reschedule for when he wanted because it was inconvenient for me and his vibe wasn't sitting well with me at that point so I didn't even want to reschedule. So as I was walking towards the entrance of the building, although I felt some type of way and still wanted to give him a chance, he rips into me as you see so I finally convinced myself to not go in, to turn around and head back to my car. HE DENIED ME SERVICE. Plain and simple. I now have an invoice for $60 for this labeled as a "no show no call fail to reschedule" fee, hastily typed, and I have given him the chance to remove this and as you see by the reply he is just interested in bullying me and accusing me of insulting him. I refuse to give my money to someone who is going to speak to and treat me, a complete stranger, like that, and for something completely out of my control. Apparently he could use some lessons on being kind and understanding with others, especially since this is how he claims to make a living. I was more than happy to plunk down the money for it and leave a generous tip, but the amazing stylist I found in Carmel on a walk in basis after he left me hanging got my business and money instead. As someone who has been in customer service for 20 years, it is absolutely true that you'll never hear about the 10 customers you treated well, but you'll definitely hear about the 1 customer you treated poorly. Sadly, this is my true story of poor service. I urge anyone in the beauty industry reading this to run their business in an ethical manner and be transparent with their policies and fees to avoid reviews such as this.

  Isabel is an amazing stylist! She really listens to her clients and does an awesome job with color AND extensions!! The hand-tied extensions are great, especially if you have curly hair, but you can't wrong with the hand-tied or tape-in extensions either! I've had extensions for over a year. No one knows because they look so natural! The hand-tied extensions are so very cool and quick to put in/ move up! If you are in need of a barber, I highly recommend Jay T (also in loft 20). Very detail-oriented and does an awesome job with razor cuts and staying up on current styles. Check him and Isabel out in Loft 20 at Salon Lofts on River Road!! Both are highly recommended!
