This location has a great team to work with, from the salesman Dominic, sales manager and finance manager Tracey, everyone was wonderful and it was overall an easy going experience. They really helped us find our wants and needs within our price range, no sales aggregation or pushing whatsoever. I cannot say this for every CampingWorld we have been to, so if you’re in the market and in the area definitely pay them a visit.

I’m writing to share my recent experience with your Deforest, WI (Madison) location regarding the purchase of a used Forest River Arctic Wolf 287BH. While the process started off positively, the overall experience was marked by poor communication, lack of organization, and multiple unfulfilled promises that significantly impacted our satisfaction. My wife and I traveled twice from our home to view and eventually purchase the RV — a two-hour drive each way. Our first visit was to view the unit in person and place a $500 hold. Our salesperson, Tanner, was helpful and friendly during that visit. We were asked by Briana, the sales manager, to return on Saturday, September 27th to finalize the purchase. However, while en route, Tanner called to inform us the agreed-upon work on the unit hadn’t been completed. I reminded him that a four-hour round trip was not feasible unless we could take the unit home, so we turned around. On Monday, September 29th, I received a voicemail from Nick (sales manager) stating the camper was being fixed and asked if I could come later that afternoon. Given I’m a special education teacher and live two hours away, a same-day pickup was not possible. I then received a follow-up call from Tina confirming the unit was now ready. I texted Tanner at 4:05 PM explaining I couldn’t make it that day but was trying to rearrange my schedule for the next day. By 6:57 PM, I confirmed via text that I’d be up on Tuesday, September 30th and asked for a 10:30 AM appointment. Tanner responded that he’d confirm in the morning. While already en route the next morning, I received a text from Tanner saying they were “really booked” and that our appointment would be closer to 1:00 PM. Despite this, we continued and arrived at 12:45 PM, only to find the dealership empty and no staff aware of our appointment. After 20 minutes, we were told to go find the RV ourselves at the Forest River service lot. There, Brian — who was helpful — walked us through the unit. Unfortunately, we discovered that the awning was still not working, even though its repair was part of our agreement. Brian identified a strut issue but had no immediate solution, asking us to discuss it with sales. Back on the sales floor, we waited again. I eventually had to ask what the next step was. We were told paperwork still wasn’t ready — despite multiple calls the previous day claiming everything was finished. Our file was handed to Tracy in finance, who had never seen it and needed time to review it. Once in her office, I discovered that nearly all financial details were incorrect — including sale price, down payment, and the initial $500 hold. Tracy was quick and professional in fixing the errors and even confirmed with the sales team that the awning issue should have been resolved before pickup. We left the sales building with no acknowledgment from any upper sales staff. Back at the service lot, during a final check, I noticed the black tank indicator was reading ¾ full. Brian — again, very helpful — flushed the tank while I was hooked up outside. While I appreciated his action, it’s unacceptable that the tank wasn’t cleaned prior to pickup, especially since Camping World policy claims all used units are to be cleaned and sanitized before sale. As customers who invested time, money, and effort into this purchase, we expected a far higher standard of service — one aligned with the promises and reputation of Camping World. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve future customer experiences. **Edited to note we have not received any communication from CW regarding the sale of our used unit or our feedback on the sales process.**

I was not comfortable in the way they used Marketplace to market their product. They were not up front about being affiliated with a dealership. Also, I made an appointment but did not feel that the salesman was prepared for our appointment.
