I was exploring some options to replace my current vehicle. We had a lease that still had some time left on it but I was willing to ground early if the right "deal" presented itself. Ultimately we needed to move to something with seven seats (currently had six), not an emergency need but more of a "hey if we can make the numbers work" situation. We were cross shopping the Volvo EX90, the Lucid Gravity, and the Cadillac Vistiq. I had been monitoring the EX90 situation for about two years and was well aware of the "challenges" the brand faced when launching the vehicle (software bugs, early adopter challenges, etc.). Volvo had stacked a lot of incentives on the vehicle and Costco was also running some additional rebates so I decided to ping a few Volvo dealerships that had inventory to see how interested they might be in moving some of the 2025 inventory as 2026 models were looming. Of the three dealerships I pinged only Volvo Tacoma responded immediately and was willing to have "discussions" via e-mail. I worked with James Adams directly and was just clear from the beginning that I was serious about the vehicle but wasn't looking to come down and go through a normal process of test driving and back and forth with the manager etc. James asked for a few details to make sure I qualified for various incentives (and likely lease rates) and within 48 hours had prepared two comparable rate sheets for vehicles on the lot. Every deal will be unique of course but in this instance I appreciated James willingness to engage with me remotely (we have 5 Kids and two full time+ jobs so this flexibility was not desired but required). By the time we made arrangements to come see the vehicles James and I had pre-negotiated all the terms (there was no trade in which does simplify things). After a brief test drive and looking at colors we decided to move forward. James was efficient and absolutely acutely aware of the time constraints (daycares close when they close) and got us into financing quickly. The finance manager who's name I can't remember so my apology was also up to speed on my expectations and methods. She moved through things rapidly, didn't waste any of my time explaining things she didn't need to explain and I would say we were through finance and paperwork in 15 minutes which might be a record for me. James gave me a quick overview on setting up my Volvo account but also knew I had to get on the road ASAP and after making sure I had what I needed gave a firm hand shake and sent me on my way.
If you are looking to have a no-nonsense interaction with a Volvo dealership and not feel pressured to "just come on down to the lot and lets see what we can figure out" mentality, I don't think I could have asked for a better experience than with James and his team. I opened up by just being clear, I don't want my time wasted and I promise I will not waste yours either and they lived up to that in every interaction we had. Highly recommended.

Took my vehicle in because it was emitting a rotten egg smell and wouldn’t start. Technician confirmed it is likely due to my catalytic converter going bad from the piston ring issue (which I have been waiting three years for this dealership to fix). Found out i also needed new battery/alternator. Service dept informed me I could put a new battery/alternator on, but they wouldn’t fix or address the issue related to my piston rings OR catalytic converter and quoted me for the catalytic converter related to an issue they have not fixed for three years. In other words, they want me to put me on a new battery/alternator, but not fix the other issue that could cause serious problems with my vehicle that THEIR technician confirmed in his inspection video. They also are saying I’m financially responsible for replacing the catalytic converter when it is a piston ring issue from a recall. My car was put on the list also WELL before it reached past warranty and is having more issue as time has passed. I would suggest going to a third party rather than the Volvo dealership.

I went in to have 3 issues diagnosed and not a single one was fixed. The service department tried to convince me that the noise I was hearing was just the HVAC fan rather than having me show them which noise I was talking about. The showroom is extremely hot and I was kept waiting for 2 hours in there only for them to not fix the issue of my car or even talk to me about it. My first experience here and I would definitely not come back.

Came in for service. Excellent in that respect, but when we went to look at cards for sale, not one sales person came out to the lot. It was comfortable, we were not actually ready to buy, but they could have missed a sale opportunity.

I worked with Tony at Volvo Cars Tacoma and it couldn't have been easier. The whole process from start to finish was seamless. I'm a few hours away from the dealership so we were able to negotiate all over text and came to a deal that everyone was happy with on our EX30. I'd make the drive 10/10 times again to work with Tony and the team there!
