Fair and honest fees for quality auto repairs. What more can you ask for? Everyone there is so pleasant and they take the time to explain everything to you. My 2004 Ford Escape has over 200K miles on it and still purrs like a kitten thanks to Shaftsbury Auto Center. (It should be noted that there is also a Shaftsbury Auto Repair further south on 7A with a lot of Saabs parked out front. This review is for the place a few miles north from there.

Fast and affordable service. The staff was pleasant. Best of all, they didn't have one of those cheesy, shrill "auto repair TV channel" things that some of the chains have! The only downside I saw was that it was a bit messy inside the waiting area. I also didn't see anything for coffee. They probably could have set me up if I had asked, I just didn't want to bother. Not a big deal. Just keep in mind it's a working garage not a hotel. They'll treat you right, get you in and out quickly, and won't overcharge you for the services rendered.

Frequently Asked Questions About Shaftsbury Auto Center

Why Should I Have My Cooling System Flushed?

As part of auto repair, coolant systems need to be flushed because the coolant fluid, antifreeze, will break down over time. It will also collect rust and dirt particles, which can get stuck in your heater core and/or radiator. If your radiator gets clogged, it will cause your car to overheat. If your heater core gets clogged, you won't have any heat in your car. You should follow your owner's manual to see how often you should have your antifreeze changed. General guidance suggests that you should change the antifreeze around 100,000 miles and every three years after to maintain your car's life.

Why Should I Have My Tires Rotated and Balanced?

Rotating and balancing your tires during your auto repair will increase the life of your tires. Front tires usually wear faster than the rear. If your tires wear unevenly, it could cause your car problems with slipping or skidding, especially in bad weather. By rotating and balancing your tires, they will wear more evenly. You should rotate and balance your tires every other oil change.
