Car taken to Casey Kia due to Kia engine recall. Prior to work being performed they inspected my car and offered other possible things I might want done (replace wipers, replace air filters, under coating, drive belt). Told Kia only wanted engine replacement at this time and drive belt. When I picked up my car the bill was about $300 more than I was expecting because they replaced hoses and tacked on additional labor. The inspection paperwork was checked that the hoses were good and replacement was never discussed to be done. Labor should have been covered by the Kia recall. I tried to discuss this with the Marcus (service advisor) and his comment was "No, we're not going to go there" and things went down hill from there. He became very agitated and really didn't want to hear anything I had to say. He also said, "Look, I'm going to get you out of here" and asked how much I was expecting to pay and I told him only for the drive belt. He then refiguried my bill to what was my original cost. I thanked him and asked him about the engine warranty and he said 12 months. I find it odd that a new engine only has a 12 month warranty so I don't know if he actually knew what he was saying or if he just wanted me gone. I don't mind paying for something that's approved but I do object to finding unapproved charges added to my bill. Prior Casey Kia service been outstanding but this last encounter with Marcus really left a bad taste.

Business must be real great for these guys at the entire casey group. I have worked in sales and for dealerships and I don’t understand having to beg them to give your business to them.
I did an online offer process through CarGurus and Edmonds and received tolerable “offers“ from casey Kia and casey Volkswagen…
naturally, I received emails from each in addition to the automated ones. I responded numerous times to the emails at both locations and have yet to receive a response almost a week later. I called yesterday and spoke with the sales manager at Kia. I explained the situation, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because let’s face it sometimes technology fails us. he explained he would text me and or email me his information where I could send him pictures of my vehicle since I live two hours away, and I am aware that those automated online offers are not actual offers.
hours go by and I never heard from him. I called back and was transferred to the office. Apparently everyone was busy and the call disconnected saying no one was available without giving me the opportunity to leave a voicemail.
I called back, explained the situation to the nice lady who answers the phone Zaire. I explained once again giving the benefit of the doubt that it is possible they continue to transcribe my phone number wrong because my area code is 727 and people in Virginia consistently will enter 757 anyway. I explained that it could be happening as I find it hard to believe that the business just is choosing to not follow up after my repeated attempts. She said she would pass the message along and here we are The next day, still having not received a follow up. At this point, I can only assume that since I’m not looking to buy a car, they are not interested in my business even though they continue to tell me I do not have to buy one of those. At this point, I’m taking my business elsewhere.
when I worked for a dealership (Carmax) if there was any sign of somebody who was interested, I continued to follow up until they asked me not to. I am practically begging these folks to give them my business and receiving zero follow up. It’s unacceptable.
