I've had several car purchasing experiences, but this one by far will be the most memorable. Everyone working at this dealership is extremely nice, detail oriented, and fair. They treated me with respect and went above and beyond to take care of me. I would highly recommend Sheehy GMC of Fredericksburg to any of my family, friends, or co-workers.

Sheehy GMC Fredericksburg, VA. I found the color truck I wanted. A 2018 GMC Sierra SLT with 36,000. Miles on it but 3 1/2 hours away. It was 7 years old, so I bought the $4000. warranty. And my specific question was, does it cover electrical problems. Answer, yes, after a $250. Deductible. The first time I didn’t drive it for 4 days, the battery died. Jumped it off, and battery charged up. Then it happened again and again after not driving for several days. So I took it to a local garage. He kept it 5 days and said I didn’t have a draw, and advised to replace the battery. I did, and it died again, and again. So, I took it to our local GMC dealer. He called after the first day and said I definitely have a draw, but it’s intermittent and I needed to ok a few more hours. I told him I have a warranty so go ahead. It turned out to be a hood latch sensor cutting on and off, draining and damaging my battery. The invoice was $665. The warranty said they would pay $16.00. I called Sheehy and the finance department doesn’t answer or return calls for 2 days. So I called sales, and they got Kate to answer. She said it’s covered, that the GMC dealer wasn’t writing it up correctly. So I told the GMC representative and he called the warranty company and they said they would pay for 30 minutes labor, not the hours it took to figure it out. The hours labor was my deductible. So they pay $16. I pay $665. I called Kate. No answer, no return calls. The moral of the story is you can’t trust a Sheehy dealer to back up what they say when it comes to a warranty. If I had been local, I would have taken it back to Sheehy the first time it happened. Don’t buy their Easy Care warranty. Mike Link

My experience with this dealership was fairly decent. I will begin by saying it did not start on the right foot. I had called on a Tuesday to try and set up an appointment to bring my vehicle in for a check engine light. The woman I spoke to on the phone was able to get me in that Thursday, which I was very happy about. Side note: One of the reasons why I stopped taking my vehicle to Buick was not because of the service, but because it seemed like such a challenge to try and schedule an appointment to bring my car in. I normally would call and there were too many times where nobody answered or nobody returned my call if I left a voicemail. I didn’t want to go online and schedule because I prefer speaking to a live person and not a chat bot. Thursday arrives and I bring my vehicle in first thing in the morning. I was told over the phone that if I needed a loaner, it’s typically first come first serve and the best option would be to try and get in as early as possible. When I get to the dealership, I was greeted by April who was a lovely lady. I informed her of the situation and she was surprised that I was able to get scheduled in so quickly. From what I was told, the next availability for the work I needed done was about a week out, but she was glad I was able to get in as quickly as I did. I asked her did they have a loaner in place because I did need a car for that day. She said they didn’t have any loaners available so I had to reschedule the appointment for the next Tuesday. That was inconvenient, but I did reschedule for that Tuesday. She did say that based on the code that came up on her reader I just need to replace a purge valve and that I could still drive on the car without really having any issues of safety. That did give some comfort and she did say she would make sure that there was a loaner available for me when I dropped it off Tuesday morning. Tuesday comes. I drop off my vehicle and they did have a loaner available, which was awesome. They were able to repair the issue with the purge valve and they were also able to clear the recall that had been on my Buick for quite some time. I was informed that the right rear caliper was not working correctly, which puzzled me because we had that replaced almost 6 months ago at a different dealership so I told them to hold off on repairing that as i was going to take it back to the dealership that worked on it. Other than that, they did a good job. Everything was repaired that needed it and I was able to keep on driving it.

Excellent service advisors, excellent service techs, great communication, and great dealership all the way around. Even the salesman, who is now a finance manager, remembered me and asked about the 2 vehicles (1 for me, 1 for my wife) we bought there in the last 2 years. He remembered my name, and the 2 specific vehicles we bought. We hadn't seen him in a year and he remembered. I highly recommend Sheehy GMC of Fredericksburg. All of my experiences there, including servicing our vehicles, has been perfect.

The service shop is a rip off! I was told that I needed all new fuel injectors and all new injector pigtails for my Duramax and the job would be 16 hours to complete. I went for a second opinion and went to an actual diesel repair shop and they ran a diagnosis and said that it is just my pig tail that was bad on cylinder 5 but did recommend I change all of them because they are known to go bad in this L5P engine. To top it off they said it was about 6-8 hours to change and not 16! Oh and the crazy part is the dealer wanted 8600 for the work and this place is 3400. I’m sure the manufacturer repair book says 16 hours so that is just what they are going to charge you regardless if it takes them less than the 16 hours. I mean dang, you could pull this motor in less time! Why do dealership service departments have to be so expensive?
