Here’s exactly what happened:
I chose Hugh’s Body Shop after getting several estimates. The shop looked clean and professional, and although they were the most expensive, I assumed the higher price meant better quality. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case.
From the beginning, I clearly explained that I wanted to keep costs down by doing all the interior work myself—reinstalling the seats, airbags, trim, and seat belts. I only needed them to repair the door and corner of the cab. The estimate I received was high but still within reason, so I scheduled a drop-off date about a month out.
After dropping off my truck, communication and timelines fell apart. A repair that was supposed to take a couple of weeks turned into several months. Every time I checked in, I was told it would be “a little longer,” but the delays continued.
When I finally went to pick up my truck, I found a significant upcharge added to the originally agreed-upon amount. When I questioned it, Jared went over the charges and even acknowledged that I had a valid point—he initially agreed I could pay the original estimate. But when I handed him the check, he refused to give me my keys unless I paid the additional amount.
Being told I would not get my vehicle until I paid more than we agreed on felt extremely coercive. I just wanted my truck back, so I reluctantly paid the extra amount.
The explanation for the upcharge was “additional frame time,” but I had personally measured and photographed the frame before dropping it off, and nothing was different when I got it back except some spray paint. There were also new issues with the truck that were not part of the original damage. Jared told me in person that he would take care of them, but when I followed up later, he refused.
This entire experience left me frustrated, disappointed, and concerned for others. What appears to be a reputable shop feels like it is being run by someone who is unprofessional and unwilling to stand behind their work.
Please learn from my experience. There are plenty of honest, skilled shops out there. I regret trusting Hugh’s Body Shop with my vehicle.

Thank you, Jared, for responding to my review. A call or email would have been fine, but the last time we spoke by phone, the call ended abruptly with, “Thank you for your business, but no thank you, I don’t want it anymore.” I’m not asking for more work—only for the issues that occurred during the repair to be addressed.
I would still appreciate the before-and-after photos you offered, especially those showing the missing bed bracket and the paint in that area. If you choose to call again, please don't hang up mid-conversation. I’m simply trying to resolve this professionally.
I admit I may be emotionally invested in this situation, but that’s because I trusted your shop and felt let down. Having worked in the automotive field for years, I know how easily customers can be taken advantage of. That’s the only reason I’m speaking up.

Just to clarify for anyone reading: there has still been no contact from the shop—no call, no email—despite statements suggesting otherwise. This issue remains unresolved months later.
I want to reiterate my experience so other customers understand what they may be dealing with. In my case, the final price exceeded what we discussed, and when concerns arose afterward, the shop would not stand behind the work. The additional damage and missing bracket were never addressed, even though I brought them up immediately.
I’m posting this update so future customers know that once payment is made, you may struggle to get any follow-up support if problems appear. I genuinely hope others have a better experience, but mine has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.
