I purchased a camper from Camping World with cash, and the buying process became frustrating due to issues with the title. I still have not received the title, which means I cannot register the camper in Georgia.
I have called three separate times to get updates and resolve the issue, but no one has returned my calls. Communication and follow-through have been extremely disappointing, especially after making a full cash purchase. A camper without a title creates a serious problem for the buyer, and this should have been addressed before the sale was completed.
I hope Camping World improves its customer service and title processing because customers should not have to chase down basic paperwork after a purchase.
The title clerk will ghost you and not return any calls. Very unprofessional, if you read most of the negative reviews about this location you will see that they never call you back or follow up with their promises. Front reception has been super helpful with transferring me to the title office but they hardly ever answer.
If you’re purchasing a camper here especially paying cash make sure you have the title in hand before leaving the dealership. My experience after the sale was very frustrating due to ongoing title issues and lack of communication.
I’ve since had to go through a corporate claim process to try to resolve everything. I also learned that I’ll now need to have the VIN inspected through the police department in order to move forward with obtaining a title. These are important details that should have been clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.
When I initially spoke with Sally, I was told they would work on getting the title handled, but unfortunately that never happened, and follow-up communication became very difficult. Calls and messages often went unanswered, which made the situation even more disappointing.
I would strongly recommend that future buyers verify all title paperwork is complete and physically available before finalizing a purchase. I myself will never buy at camping world. Don’t recommend it, go to a family owned dealer. UPDATE! Sally did call me back and did answer a lot of my questions after I filled a VIP complaint through the camping world complaint line. Unfortunately they still cannot get a title for the unit. Their excuse is that GA does not require one due to the weight being below 1800LBS. The GA DMV and registration office in Sandy Springs GA is saying I need a title to register the unit. I am having to go through a title bonding to get a title and pay out of pocket. This was never disclosed during the purchase that the unit was not titled. I will never buy from camping world again. Never! 👎If a camper has a vin number it should always have a title for it, the weight limit because it’s below should not be an excuse. If a customer wants a title for their unit a customer should get one. Using an excuse to not title the unit is not an option. For a corporation to be as big as camping world if I customer wants a title they should provide it for the customer. Always take care of your customers, shame on you Camping World.
