My experience with my Audi Q3 and the service department has been… rough. To start I will say I’ve owned different vehicles for many years and have never had as many recurring issues as I’ve had with this one. It’s disappointing because Audi has always had such a strong reputation, and my previous A5 was a fantastic car that never gave me these kinds of problems. I have had may issues with my Q3 but most recently the main issue right now is that the sensors in the vehicle continuously go off while I’m driving or arriving somewhere. I’ve documented this multiple times on video because it happens consistently. However, whenever I bring the car in, the sensors somehow don’t trigger while the service team has the vehicle, and I’m then told that nothing can be done because the system isn’t showing the issue to them. (Interesting). I’ve added in plenty of photos to show the system error that shows up for me and it lasts nonstop. Going back-and-forth as I drive.
The videos I have are also different time zones of the day to show day and night how consistent it is. (One of the many issues) That’s extremely frustrating as an owner because the problem clearly exists in real-world use, and I’ve taken the time to record multiple videos showing exactly what’s happening. Most of the conversation during service visits has focused on upselling maintenance items rather than diagnosing the problems I’m actually experiencing. The female service technician (I’ll spare saying her name directly) was also very unkind. She’ll call with an attitude And tell me to buy something or basically come get my car. For example, I was recommended services like a $300 oil change and a windshield wiper replacement quoted at over $2,000, while the core issues with the vehicle remained unresolved. People don’t like feeling like they’re being sold to. Help me with my issues and I’ll be happy to buy something else. I would want to! People buy from people they like. I would’ve been way more willing to buy something had they put more effort in actually trying to fix my car. Windshield wipers were not at the top of my list. I can tell you that. But has she been a pleasant person overall to work with despite the systematic issues I would’ve still left purchasing something because I do overall want to have a well functioning Q3 since it already has enough issues on its own.
What I’m really hoping for is simple: someone who is willing to actually investigate the issues with the vehicle and help get to the bottom of them rather than dismiss them because the sensors don’t trigger during the brief time the car is in the shop. I genuinely more than anything want to continue enjoying the Audi brand, but right now this experience has been swaying me to do quite the opposite. I’m hoping someone can step in, review the situation carefully, and help find a real solution.
Until then I’ll have to stay on my search.
