- CVColten VossNov 5, 20251.0This is the second jiffy lube I’ve been to that has messed up my skid plate during an oil change. My vehicle is a 2018 Toyota Tundra. I had just recently put all new bolts on the skid plate from my last experience at jiffy lube when one of the “techs” rounded off and stripped them. This time they struggled to get plate off. When the oil change was finally done, I didn’t think I heard them put all 5 new bolts back. I pulled out of the bay and immediately checked…. They had only put 2 bolts back and shoved a random bolt in one of the holes and left the underside of the engine and the sway bar covered in oil. I walked back to the bay and asked the employee what happened to the rest of my hardware. He told me he couldn’t put it back. I told him “so you were just going to let me leave and not tell me my skid plate wasn’t securely bolted to my truck??” I don’t think that for $160 I should have to take my skid plate off at home before I get an oil change done. What is the issue here? Is it a lack of tools training or both?
