Their car salesman John is amazing. That guy has a gift. I’m so used to the high pressure of car sales that I was expecting the worst when I made the appointment with him. But his calm demeanor and genuine customer service not only made the process simple but enjoyable. Imagine that! Kudos to John and the entire Grubbs team for treating their customers like people and not dollar signs. I highly recommend them if you’re in the market for a new ride.

TLDR: Grubbs charged my body shop way over MSRP on parts. Grubbs "wasn't aware" that a body shop dropping off the car wasn't retail work, and the service manager refused to charge MSRP on the parts, which was already significantly higher than what other Volvo dealerships sell the same parts for online.
My body shop brought my car to Grubbs Volvo Central Houston (at my request because I regularly service my car here) to further diagnose a headlight malfunction warning light after an accident. Grubbs diagnosed and determined that the issue was a faulty headlight and control unit.
They replaced both parts, but marked up the parts costs way above MSRP.
Headlight MSRP: $3312; Grubbs charged $3974; Volvo dealerships are selling this brand new online for as low as $2074.
Control unit MSRP: $402; Grubbs charged $578; Volvo dealerships are selling this brand new for as low as $293.
My bodyshop did make a mistake and didn't notice the price discrepancy until after they paid the invoice. I called and requested the service manager to lower the part price to MSRP (which obviously has profit already baked in at that price), but he simply refused, saying that "the invoice is already paid" and that "it's been over 30 days; maybe if it was within 30 days, they could do something." When I informed him it was only about 2 weeks (and that the body shop was trying to get in contact with Grubbs Volvo management about this for a week before I got involved), he backtracked and reverted to "nothing we can do; the invoice is paid." He admitted that if they knew insurance was involved, they would have charged MSRP pricing, but because there was miscommunication, they weren't willing to put any effort into making things right.
As a previously loyal customer of Grubbs Volvo, both Grubbs Volvo and Grubbs dealerships as a whole have lost a customer for life because they wanted to make a quick one-time profit of $944 (including tax).

Bought a car a year ago. got a charger that wasn't the right type. Sent multiple inquiries. No response. They are really good before you buy your car and ghost you after.

My wife, Lee, and I would like to express our most sincere thanks first to our salesperson, John. He was warm, welcoming and never pressured us to make the sale. He was knowledgeable and answered every question we had. We are certain he will continue to be a contributing member of the Volvo team.
We also wanted to recognize the finance person who assisted us (apologies, I can't recall her name right away). She was extremely helpful and scoured the lenders for the best deal.
We also appreciate the manager coming out to thank us and offer to assist us in the future.
Lastly, we appreciate the service staff down to the team who prepared our car for our fist drive as new Volvo owners.
Thank you all so much.

Very disappointed! I had a terrible experience as a customer trying to shop for a car there. I negotiated a car over the phone for weeks and after finally getting to a reasonable number I drove 1hr to get there. When I got there, the car was not ready and it took me 25 mins waiting just to test drive the car. They presented me a TOTALLY different quote for the car I wanted and decreased the value of my trade in car in almost 7k. Be aware that they hide a “luxury inspection” fee from you until last minute. I literally asked the guy about it during the test drive and he lied saying he didn’t remember the amount (he sells cars every day and don’t remember). That’s a 3K (!!!) fee, and that amount is mandatory even for new cars - ridiculous!!! The sales guy was ok (despite lying to me) but the manager (Darian Lambert) was very disrespectful. After I saw the quote I presented my offer and the guy disqualified me saying that what I proposed as a deal was not even an offer and he would not even consider that. Besides that, he made ZERO effort to make me feel comfortable and welcome. There was no connection since the first hand shake and the lack of trust was evident to me. Total disaster!! Thats when I stand up and left the place. As the CEO of my company, that was a helpful experience since it was a MASTERCLASS of what NOT to do to a customer. I already scheduled a meeting with my executives to talk about that experience and learn from it as a company. And I’ve been talking to some close friends about this terrible experience. I do not recommend this place.
