⭐ BMW X5 Oil Change Disaster I normally never leave reviews, but what happened at this Jiffy Lube deserves to be known — #1 The Tech in the pit ( big Hispanic guy ) #2 The GM’s unprofessional “repair.” We took my mom’s BMW X5 for a simple oil change. We usually go to Take 5, but since they didn’t have the filter, we came here instead — worst mistake ever. The tech in the pit took an unusually long time, but eventually came up, handed me a folded receipt, and told me everything was good. I trusted him and went home. The next morning, there was a huge puddle of oil on my driveway. I called the shop and The GM said to bring it in so he can check it so I did and after his evaluation he said the drain plug “didn’t tighten” and he could only tighten it “so much before it slips.” If it didn’t tighten then why would the tech ( the big Hispanic guy ) That Serviced my car not tell me this, I’m lost here Is that not his job to let the customer know that there is a problem With the drain plug instead he just let me go stating the oil change was done And everything was great while handing me my receipt with his lying comment under notes folded Three times probably hoping I wouldn’t see it which I didn’t until two days later i pulled it out the glove box because he told me to see my receipt- you’ll understand why in a bit keep reading. We’ve serviced this car at Take 5 for two years and never had a single leak or puddles on my driveway ever my landlord can Vouch for this since he comes every month for the past 4 1/2 years of me living there to pick up rent. Now I have to pay someone to clean it up and remove the stains Because he says it looks ugly and he doesn’t want that on his driveway which makes sense. I don’t want it on my driveway. Then to make matters worse, the GM tells me he “fixed it” by installing a next size up drain plug and washer again, assuring me, everything was good well unfortunately, nothing was good. It was still dripping in my driveway. Again I called Jiffy Lube livid this time and to top it off the big Hispanic guy the so-called jiffy Tech that lied claiming my car had “previous oil leaks” happens to answer the phone and tells me there’s nothing they can do tells me to check my receipt. That’s when I realized he had written that note — but never mentioning it in person. He knowingly sent me home with a stripped drain plug and a leaking car, hoping what he wrote on the folded receipt he handed me would cover him. I reached out to Jiffy Lube corporate and spoke with someone named Wesley, who made a report. Then the owner, Chris Newman, emailed me and asked me to bring it back to his GM so he can try a bigger size drain plug to see if it catches some threads from the backside 🤔 He even tried to blame BMW’s “thin aluminum pans,” which is ridiculous. This vehicle has had flawless oil changes for years. So I took the BMW to a real shop — and that’s where the truth came out. They showed me exactly what Jiffy Lube did. • The threads on the drain hole were stripped by Jiffy Lube. • The GM shoved in an oversized bolt that didn’t belong. • He smeared red silicone/glue sealant of some sort — a completely unprofessional and unacceptable “repair around the bolt. The mechanics literally started laughing because they couldn’t believe a national chain would do something so careless and unsafe. They told me no professional shop would ever use silicone or adhesive of any type around a drain plug to stop a leak. This isn’t just bad service — this is negligence. And instead of admitting fault, they tried to cover it up on the receipt and blame the customer. I truly hope they reimburse the out-of-pocket expenses I had to pay to get the repair cost was $150, and I also had to pay for a new oil change, which was $130 + the 2 days I couldn’t get to work. However, regardless of the outcome, I will never consider taking my vehicle to this Jiffy Lube . Absolutely unacceptable. If you value your car, stay away from this location
