I’ve never had any issues with this location until today. I’ve always chosen this shop for my vehicles because they’ve been reasonable and do good work. However, after today’s experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I arrived around 1:15 PM to have tires mounted that I did not purchase from them. Before coming in, I called to get an estimate and to confirm they could do the work today. The young lady on the phone gave me a price and assured me they could get to it quickly. Upon arrival, I asked again about the wait time and was told 1 to 1.5 hours, which I agreed to.
About 1.5 hours later, I saw my vehicle pulled around, indicating it was finished. At that moment, the employee working the front desk was assisting another customer regarding a nail in her tire. The technician who worked on my car came in, placed my keys and paperwork on the desk, and nodded at me. I waited patiently while the front-desk employee finished helping the other customer.
While I waited, the technician began bringing in tires from the back. Then a young woman also started bringing in tires, saying, “Our manager wants to make a Christmas tree.” Shortly after, the front-desk employee—who had just finished with the other customer—also began carrying tires instead of checking me out. I was the only customer in the lobby, and despite the technician saying twice, “His vehicle is ready,” no one acknowledged me or began the checkout process. The technician even apologized, though none of this was his fault.
The three employees continued stacking tires, and the young woman began singing “O Christmas Tree.” When the manager came out with more tires, she commented on how the stack was crooked and instructed them to fix the labels. Only after the technician said for the third time, “His vehicle is ready,” did anyone finally check me out—and even then, the young woman processing my payment did not apologize or acknowledge the delay. While she was checking me out, the manager called over to her for help placing the topper on the tire Christmas tree.
After leaving the lobby, I discovered that the two rear tires I had specifically asked to keep were not in my car, around the vehicle, or anywhere outside. I had clearly told the young man at the counter—with glasses and a tattoo on his forearm—that I wanted to keep them, and he said, “No problem.” At that point, already frustrated, I simply left.
Today’s experience made it clear that this location values building a Christmas tire display more than providing basic customer service. I will no longer bring any of my vehicles to this or any other NTB/Mavis Tire location. I would rather drive farther and pay more for quality service and professionalism.
