I’ve occasionally parked along the side street next to their shop, which looks like a public road. There are no “No Parking,” “Private Property,” or towing signs anywhere, and many residents from the apartment community regularly park there without issue, even overnight. After months of parking there on/off for a brief moment of time, with no communication from the shop, I suddenly received a large green “illegal parking” warning on my windshield along with a handwritten note threatening towing. What was disappointing is that the staff has seen me many times, we’ve even waved, so a simple conversation would have been the respectful and professional way to handle it. This situation also felt targeted, considering that countless other cars park there daily and none have received this kind of towing threat. If the area is truly private property, clear signage, a painted curb (anything) and consistent communication (like with apartment management) would prevent misunderstandings like this and avoid making customers or neighbors feel singled out.
