John and the crew have been taking care of me for years and I wouldn’t take my Japanese vehicles anywhere else for service or repairs. A+ establishment.

Was on a road trip and had an issue with my vehicle. They got me in that day and took care of it for a fair price. They were friendly and communicative. The online invoicing system was really slick.

To start, I will say the work conducted is quality. I've yet to have an issue with replacements or services performed by the technicians at Rising Sun. I would say their services fall within the higher end of "reasonable" to overpriced. I've had, I believe, three trips here for services on my Toyota. The main reason for the three stars is my most recent visit was incredibly frustrating and the first two times were frustrating still. Each time I've made an early morning appointment, twice I had to pickup the following day and was notified of such very late into the afternoon. Furthermore, at the time of dropoff I get told "should be done today!" The jobs I've requested have been completed in half a day at other shops I've been to. Why even bother making an appointment if I'm not gonna have my car back within the quoted time frame? Once, the technician left a roughly 18" long wrench still attached to my steering rack that I coincidentally found cause I felt like inspecting. The response from Rising Sun did not illicit concern or sympathy. What if that wrench flew off on the highway? Got stuck in my suspension? Bounced off the ground and hit another car? They simply said 'bring it back and we'll take if off'. No apology for more time I have to spend for a mistake of the shop? On a separate occasion I found an empty bottle for power steering fluid in my air intake box with a rising sun inventory sticker on it. I did not have any work done on my power steering. Just sloppy. I've had my car over 20 years and not once has a mechanic left a tool or trash in my car. My most recent trip was the most frustrating. I bring my car in for a oil change, opt-in for adjustment on my rear drum brakes. I get a call that a front brake hose ruptured when they were testing? What did I get? A bill for $700 to take off four nuts to replace the two hoses and a brake flush. Outrageous price. No apology for rupturing the hose in store, no offer of discount for their mistake, nothing. I can't say I was pleased with this. It has been satisfactory performance up until this. I'm not sure I can recommend Rising Sun based on my experiences.
