We had to stop in Missoula, Montana to tell us it was the alternator. This part is a dealership item only and it would take days to receive. We had to purchase 2 batteries just to make it about an hour and a half away from home. We then towed the vehicle home. My husband and I have contacted the dealership and they said they would “work” on a solution to only have them not respond for weeks. We had our 4 month year old daughter present and it made it for a miserable ride home.

- DJDaniel JankeOct 26, 20255.0My wife and i were on a cross country vacation with our 2024 GMC 3500 Dmax pulling a 30ft 5th wheel. We left Alberta(August 7th) headed to the east cost Maritimes to explore. Worked our way down the east coast to New York then across going west back towards Alberta. Our one stop was going to be in Rapid City for 2 days. Unfortunately our truck had the transmission problem of which there is a bulletin out for. Was 4:30ish when we pulled into Rapid City when the transmission acted up about a mile from out campsite. I phoned Granite GMC and the serviceman i talked to (Josh) said if i can have the truck there before 5:30 they would do a quick scan to see what was happening, this was Thursday Oct.2nd. Confirmed that the transmission was going to need work and Josh said if i can bring it back at 8am Friday morning( can't really drive it anyway) they will try to get it in sooner to work on, but were booking into next Wednesday already. So i drop it off at 8am. About 3pm i get a call saying they have parts ordered for the repairs, Awesome! Only thing it might be up to 2 weeks to get the parts as they are obviously in demand. Ok so we rent a car in the meantime. Long story short, the parts showed up Tuesday, got a call about 11am Wednesday saying my truck was ready to go!!! We just cannot say enough good about the people we dealt with at Granite. Josh was so kind, understanding and accommodating ,always keeping me updated. He absolutely deserves a big pat on the back! I have always been a GM person and this is without a doubt one of the best experiences i have ever had at a GM dealership.
