Rating isn’t low enough!! My husband and I always want to give a local, independent shop my business but we will never trust VMC ever again. I took my husband’s car in for inspection. We do the majority of maintenance on our vehicles ourselves but can’t do state inspections. We were told that the brand new battery that we put in the night before we took it there was dead and had to be charged. For inspection we needed a new exhaust (CAT back), front brakes, (pads and rotors) and new wiper blades to pass inspection. What should have cost no more than $80 was now going to be well over $1100 although we weren’t given a written estimate, all of this was verbal even when I went to pick the car up. We told them we’d do the brakes and wipers and look into the exhaust. Without doing anything to the car we took it to PepBoys the very next day and viola’ $66.00 later we had a car that was completely inspected without putting a dime into it. PepBoys did tell us the brakes were “low” but passable and actually gave us the depth measurements to backup their claim. VMC did not. We’ve had some other issues with VMC where we’ve felt we were being overcharged or charged for things we didn’t necessarily need but have been in a bind and went ahead with repairs anyway. My husband has been leery of taking our cars to them for awhile but bc they are local, small business and convenient we’ve returned against his better judgment. Never, ever again! This is the type of shop that gives mechanics a bad name!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR MOTORCYCLES HERE! Absolutely horrible. Charges for things that aren't needed for inspection. After I got my bike back from inspection I've had nothing but issues with it. From oil leaks, to battery and electrical issues. Before inspection I had never had any problems whatsoever! Got charged for a back tire when I just bought a new one 2000 miles before inspection.

Car was shaking on the highway, but only when going uphill. Took it to my dealer, who tried to make me replace my tires (less than 6 months old), because they obviously didn't know what they were doing and were relying on a computer to think for them instead of using common sense. Took it to VMC based on advice from a friend, and they immediately identified a bent axle as the problem. Replaced it for ~$200 and I was on my way. Been going there ever since with zero complaints. It's amazing how much better service you get from someone who has a brain/cares, versus the typical idiots.
