I was having a starting problem. They tested everything and weren't able to replicate the issue, but the battery and relay were fine. They suggested I replace the starter but couldn't guarantee that that was the issue, and weren't waiving the diagnostic fee, so they wanted me to pay nearly $700 for a new starter plus diagnostic. While it was there I asked them to check what was making a clunking noise. It took them three days with radio silence to text me and tell me I could take the car back. I asked them if they found the clunking problem, "oh they must have forgotten to check it, but you'll have to come back, we're booked." I wait about a month and go back, they fix the sway bar, I ask them to look at the serpentine belt. They say okay, they'll have to rerack it and take another look, because they already replaced the bar and took it down. Three more days, nothing. I text them on Friday saying I really need my car back, they say they'll put the keys in it and I can pick it up whenever. I get there, car is locked, keys aren't inside, they're closed for the weekend. Monday, I get my car back, still making belt noises. I text them, they tell me they'll have to bring it back in, but they wouldn't have an opening for a month. I wait a month, I try calling, over and over, no answer. Texting, same thing. I called for the last time with my phone and literally was ignored after two rings, so I called with my girlfriend's phone not even 30 seconds later and get an answer immediately. I got a long pause after saying who I was and then "okaaay what can we do for you?" I tell them I need my purge valve replaced, because after doing MY OWN research (not a mechanic!) I found out that was likely the starting issue. They give me a hard time about how "well we can't be sure that's the problem, and if we replace it and the light comes back on, it's not our fault and we can't do anything." They gave me a hard time about how they couldn't hear any belt noises, when the belt was making noise the same morning I drove it there. They tightened the belt and replaced the purge valve and I haven't had a starting problem or belt noise since, so I was right about the both, and they made me feel like I was insane for thinking that was the issue when I told them exactly why I thought that was the issue. "Why do you THINK that's the issue?" "Rough idling, sputtering starts, failing starts, poor gas mileage, gas smell, false starts after refeuling, and it was the reason my CEL was on." "Okay, well that could be something else." Okay then you should find that out, you're the mechanics??? They put in the repair notes "replacing valve due to customer demands." They also said I had NO OIL in my car at all. I'm sorry, I've taken it to you three times now, and you haven't once checked the oil level until now?
I've put about a thousand miles on it since then, and I've had no issues, until my check engine light came back on yesterday with a P0441 code. An EVAP code again! So they replaced my valve and somehow didn't notice that there was a faulty hose, or wiring, or anything else that has to do with the EVAP system. I'm not even going to try to call and go back because they just give me such a hard time and literally WOULD NOT answer me for weeks until I called from a different number.
They get 3 stars because they're inexpensive and it seems like they're super short staffed and I can empathize with that. But other than that, I don't know. Seems like they don't like me even though I've never given them a reason not to.
They were suggested to me and I was told they're fast, reliable, friendly, communicative, and cheap. The only thing I got was cheap.
