Steve was the perfect salesman for me: personable, knowledgeable and casual. No Pressure. A day or two after the sale the sales manager Mr. Leiken called to check that all was satisfactory. I highly recommend Leiken.

I’m an out-of-state buyer and had a very disappointing experience with this dealership. I was fully approved through their Mercedes-Benz financing, communicated clearly throughout the process, and was trading in my vehicle. I provided all requested documentation, including multiple videos and details for my trade-in. This was a $149,000 G63, and I was explicitly sent a deposit link, which I completed the same day it was provided. The vehicle had been sitting on their lot for nearly a month, yet I was told shortly after submitting my deposit that another buyer had already placed a deposit before me. That timing simply doesn’t make sense. If the vehicle was already spoken for, the deposit link should have been revoked or I should have been contacted before being allowed to submit payment. The dealership knew this was the specific vehicle I was actively pursuing and that financing and trade-in steps were already in motion. Allowing a customer to move forward with financing approvals, trade-in documentation, and a deposit—only to later claim the vehicle was already sold—is not fair and not how a reputable dealership should conduct business. Especially for out-of-state buyers, trust and clear communication are critical. I would strongly recommend buyers look for a dealership that operates transparently and values their customers’ time and trust. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that.

As a loyal Volvo customer (2006, 2012, and 2022 S60s), it is quite unfortunate that I find myself writing this review. After perusing other reviews of Leikin, I find that others have shared my experience. I have had nothing but trouble with the service department since purchasing this car in 2022. As another reviewer has said, “fighting to get someone to do their job” sums it up pretty well. As others have stated, the Service Manager Dave is extremely condescending. My first issue (heavily summarized) involved a faulty charging cable that worked intermittently from the initial car purchase. I engaged in heavy troubleshooting – switching from 110V to 220V adapters, switching outlets, charging at other people’s homes. Based on this I was able to identify the 220V cable adapter as clearly defective. Dave and team discounted my complaint and it took me 3 different visits to finally get a replacement cable component… which has worked without a single issue. This of course after Dave repeatedly blamed the issue on my home electrical (without any basis) suggesting I call out an electrician. Fast forward to this week and my car is experiencing a significant vibration in the seat and pedals, and whirring noise at highway speeds. The issue had developed over about a month, with the most recent time I drove my car getting significantly worse. I parked the car for a week waiting for my appointment to bring it in to Leikin so as not to worsen any issues. When I arrived, I described the issue and stated I wanted to have it checked out for possible repair. I shared that I had new tires put on very recently (weeks after the onset of the issue), and that another mechanic shared the vibration was likely due to rust buildup on the rear brake system. Dave immediately asked that I reschedule my appointment since there was snow on the ground and he couldn’t test at highway speeds. I reiterated that I considered the car to be undriveable on the highway and had waited a week without a car for this appointment. He agreed to look at the car. I got a call back stating that they tested at 45 mph and found a slight bent rim, which they did not believe was causing my issue. I asked Dave to hold the car for another 24 hours so they could test at higher speeds in better weather conditions. The response was that this would incur a $200 diagnostic charge, as they had already determined the issue was non-warranty (without actually identifying any issue). I of course declined this charge and then called the General Manager, Michael Leikin, directly. Michael was personable at first, said he would review with Dave, and then called me back shortly. His response was largely in agreeance with Dave’s assessment, doubling down on the diagnostic charge, after a first failed diagnosis. I stated this was unacceptable and that I would be picking my car up to take it elsewhere. Michael also stated that the car was tested at highway speeds, after Dave had just told me he could only get it to 45 mph. Michael got flustered and said he would personally drive my car and call me back. Neither of these things ever happened. I was more than willing to pay for a *potentially costly* non-warranty repair, if Leikin would have done the right thing and made a proper assessment of a car still under warranty. When all was said and done, I got in my car and drove it home on the highway, rumbling like a Jeep Wrangler in the front seat. It is beyond me how a professional test drove that car and found “nothing wrong”. After consulting with a local mechanic and quickly honing in on the cause of my issue, he asked if the Volvo dealer I went to was Leikin – he was well aware of their service reputation and suggested I go to Motorcars Volvo for any future needs. Leikin team – Please save your breath with the copy/paste reply “As you might have noticed we have a 4.9 star rating (the highest of any Volvo dealers in Ohio). A member of our senior management team will be reaching out today to further review your concerns.”

I would give Leiken Motors Volvo -5 stars if possible. My sister recently purchased a 2011 Volvo XC60 3.2L AWD. I am an automotive technician, but I do not specialize in European makes. The vehicle’s check engine light illuminated. I advised that she take the vehicle to a Volvo dealership for the best results. My sister scheduled an appointment, on that day enroute to the dealership the light went out. I suggested she still have the vehicle diagnosed for an intermittent fault. We dropped the vehicle off, several hours later a service advisor called and stated that there were 3 codes: one code was for both of the catalytic converters and one for the fuel rail pressure sensor. The estimate was several thousand, they recommended that she start with replacing the fuel rail pressure sensor priced around $700.00 parts & labor. The OEM Volvo part# is 31272732 the Bosch Part# is 0 261 230 238. I’ve been a dealer tech most of my career. I understand that the parts are marked up for a profit, but I found an OEM from Volvo whole website for $191.00. Mitchell’s Prodemand list the labor time as 0.7hr. When we arrived at the dealership to pick the vehicle up it appeared to have been in the same spot as it never moved. We went in and was greeted by a service advisor, he explained that it needed all the converters replaced. I asked him what was failure because failures in catalytic converters can be from damage on the road such as a large rock hitting it or running over an object. They can also fail from unburned fuel, oil, or coolant going down the exhaust. The advisor said that he wasn’t sure. She paid then we left. I was uneased about the lack of information provided for the costly repairs. I spoke with Alan from the service department on 11/21/25 04:36pm EST, I asked if he could take my name & phone number to leave a message for the service manager to call me. I never received a call back. On 11/26/25 03:37pm EST I spoke with Penny, she advised me the service manager Craig Borsei was gone for the day. I left a voicemail in his mailbox. On 11/28/25 Mr.Borsei returned my phone call. The conversation started out very pleasant, he was nice at first. All I did was ask him how the technician concluded that it needed all the catalytic converters replaced as well as the fuel rail pressure sensor. There is basic testing that is done on a circuit during diagnostic. Mr.Boresi stated that the technician retrieved diagnostic trouble codes from the vehicle and that’s how they concluded she needed all of this work. I simply asked, “so if all he did was pull codes why was she charged $225.00 to do what AutoZone does for free.” Mr.Borsei became enraged and started yelling at, he stated” this is about the money. Do you want me to give her the money back? I will gladly refund her so I don’t have to deal with you.” This was not a diagnostic, but just reading codes and guessing. I did not send my sister to a dealership for guessing games. There was no DVOM or scope used. This is unacceptable! I decided to get an OEM replacement and do it myself, I replaced the sensor, cleared all DTC’s and the code returned. I am glad that she did not end up paying the $700.00.
