  I was unable to exit the garage because the Metropolis portal wouldn’t process my credit card. The gate wouldn’t open, and there are no employees on site. I called the central number posted in the garage, and it took over 30 minutes for them to determine that their system couldn’t read my Maryland plates, which is why the payment wouldn’t process in the first place. I don’t blame staff for bad technology, but the phone support was rude and raised their voices without any provocation. More troubling is that the central office cannot open the gate even if they want to—you simply have to sit there until they troubleshoot the system. The overnight rate may be low, but be aware that you can easily get stuck at the exit with no on-site help while remote staff insists the issue is your fault, even when it isn’t.

  This is a great alternative to paying exorbitant prices for valet parking at the Graduate hotel, just don’t expect to retrieve your car after 11 PM. I used it to park overnight. However let’s clear up some of the questions about this garage. There are only about 30 spaces so it’s not very big. It does fill up during big events like graduation of Cornell Tech so you may get a notice when attempting to get a ticket that there is parking only for monthly parkers. This happened to somebody else I know because it was graduation. You must drive up to the entrance to have the door open automatically and there is a attendant on call if you push the button outside the garage. The garage is not open overnight. You may be forced to park at the other garage down the island called the motorgate if if this one is full. It is almost a mile walk. But the motorgate will always have spaces.

  For those people who plan to drive to NYC and book a hotel at Graduate Roosevelt Island! Must read this review before you go!!! I was plan to go there is because I saw one guy post a picture that they have Daily/Monthly Parking and is seem cheap. And after went there and they told me is monthly only, my plan is screwed because the other parking lot in Roosevelt Island is ****far away from my hotel!!! This SP Parking is Closed at 8PM! They are not 24hr open! *Is Monthly Parking Only*! (How did I know? Because I been there and prees that dam button ask them! And that dude say is monthly only!) After experience once, I find out this SP Parking is a scam!!! So they could force you either pay $65/day at Graduate hotel or pay $980/Month at SP Parking.
