  I’m leaving this review for two issues that I experienced with this business. First being with state inspection, they failed my inspection due to rear brakes, which I knew were low, but they also advised of a rear shock that needed placement stating that it was leaking. At that point I wanted the work done at my BMW dealership. Upon dealership inspection they determined that there wasn’t anything wrong with my shocks, changed brakes and passed inspection. Not sure what Mavis was looking at or if they were lying but I’m not taking their word over the dealerships! Second issue was with a tire that I bought there 5 months ago, which started leaking due to a screw in the tire. They don’t offer a warranty on their top line tires i.e. Continental but do on their cheaper no name junk brands, so just know that if you plan on getting good tires they likely will not offer warranty, so drive down the road and pops then you’re out of luck. My dealership offered a free one yr warranty, and same price on the tire. Needless to say I will not be going back there since they tried to deceive me with unneeded repair and due to their terrible tire policies. Guess you’ll be ok if you choose to buy below avg tires, which is a very risky endeavor if you ask me, but to each his own!

  I’ve been a loyal Mavis customer for years, but my recent visit was the most disturbing experience I’ve ever had at any auto shop. I went to Mavis because my tire was very low, and as a loyal customer, I’ve always appreciated the free air service they provide during times like these. Unfortunately, this visit turned into one of the most upsetting experiences I’ve ever had — and it involved one of their employees. After I pulled in, I suddenly heard a horn honking behind me. A white Jeep then pulled angrily in front of me. I thought I might have accidentally cut someone off, but then the driver reversed dangerously close to my car, got out, and stormed inside the store. I immediately went in to apologize and ask what I had done wrong, but to my shock, the man who was yelling at me was actually an employee of Mavis. He got right in my face, yelling and accusing me of cutting him off. I calmly told him that if I had truly cut him off, there would have been an accident. I went inside to ask for a manager or someone to help de-escalate the situation, but none of the other employees stepped in. When I tried to return to my car, he had parked so close that I couldn’t pass. I went back inside again asking for help, but the men ignored me and even laughed. Meanwhile, the employee continued to curse and make threats, even saying he would call his mother to come and beat me up. At that point, the tension was so high that I called out asking if any of the men there were going to protect us as women. Only one employee, Michael, finally stepped up to help. I could see the anger and hostility in the other employee’s eyes — it was truly frightening. Even my sister panicked and begged me to back down out of fear he might hurt me. I have never experienced anything like this before. To know that a company I’ve trusted with my car for years, I can't trust their employees to be respectful. I can’t help but to feel that if I were of a different race or social class, the employees might have responded differently. Ladies, please take this as a reminder that you aren’t always protected in these male-dominated environments, even at places you’ve trusted for years. P.S. After hearing my story, the regional manager did reach out and was very empathetic, which I truly appreciate. However, I still wanted to share my experience publicly to encourage awareness and accountability.

  Had such a great experience today at the Peekskill Mavis. John and Jamie provided excellent service , they were very knowledgeable and helped me immediately with my car issues. John provided wonderful costumer service while Jamie provided quick and reliable service to the vehicle. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

  John and Jamie were so helpful. I came in panicked as I was leaving for a long road trip the following day and was loosing air in my tire. They were attentive to my concerns and immediately assisted me. They resolved my problem quickly and I left feeling confident and happy with the service I received. If you go to Peekskill Mavis, please ask for John or Jamie, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

  I am a certified mechanic. I've been to this location several times. I've tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt. However today was the last straw, I bring my car to get a re-alignment which was done by them before and wasn't done correctly, the car would pull to the left. I've check all steering components myself and lubricated all components myself and made sure all components can be loosened so i know all is well underneath. Last week I bring it in for the realignment they say the Alignment machine is down, ok no problem. I call a few days later they say its up and running. I schedule the realignment 11/9/25 @9am. I get there they put the car on the Alignment rack I observe them look underneath the car made Zero attempts to do anything, they left the rack up and acted as if they did anything. They lowered the car and returned the car to me with "Alignment could not be performed due to rusted tie-rods". Keep in mind less than 2 months ago they did the alignment. They did not honor the policy where they state alignment are covered for 90days. This location is by far the WORST !!!! I wouldn't recommend
