Worst possible customer service I have ever experienced.
The wait was 45 mins to even look at the car, the car we looked at and had test drove when we tried to move forward they couldn’t even sell.
Bought a different car. Monday the salesman had never reached out to the insurance company. I was told he would do so. Come Wednesday when I went to pick up the car I had texted 2 hours prior to arriving, and still then waited 2 hours at the dealer to even talk to anyone. When I had all the paperwork already signed. Was told a spare key would be ordered and they would call as soon as they received it. 2 weeks later I called the parts department to learn the key has actually been in stock for a while and no one called me. As soon as they learned I was not financing the car through them I was treated very differently and very poorly by not only the salesmen but one of the financial managers.

I am starting my review for Destination Kia before the visit to the dealership tomorrow 3/20/26. I have communicated this week with Destination via email and I have been visiting competing carmakers dealers all week, going on test drives and getting a feel for each one of those places. I purposely left Destination Kia for last despite it not being the closest Kia dealership to where I live and in fact there are two others that are closer but because my co-workers couldn’t say enough good things about their own experiences with this dealership. I will give them the chance to earn my business. One co-worker said they already bought five vehicles from this dealership and have plans to buy many more. This week I have looked at Chevy, Ford and Toyota vehicles and have a complete feel for those cars and the dealerships vibe.
I do not like the car buying process and absolutely don’t want to have a feeling of being taken advantage of so I am hopeful that Destination Kia will score a home run for me in product, price and dealership vibe and I can close the deal tomorrow!
I will post again about my experience after tomorrow’s visit. I gave this review 5 stars based entirely on the interaction so far.
Update 2/20/2026
As a follow up to my previous pre-dealership review I wanted to say that without a doubt after all of the years of buying cars I was blown away by my experience today at Destination Kia. They have exceeded all of my expectations.
Jay was my sales consultant. I highly recommend Jay for his friendly, outgoing, knowledgeable and patient demeanor that made the car buying / leasing experience comfortable and stress free. I never once felt pressured or rushed throughout the process.
The finance office tends to get a bad reputation but I’ve got to say that Juan did an outstanding job! You wont feel stressed if you see him.
I have to apologize because there were so many people involved and on the sidelines that helped today but unfortunately I can’t recall their names. From the manager to the folks who got my new car ready…You are amazing.
The dealership is easy to get to with easy access to I-90. Everyone I encountered genuinely seemed friendly and outgoing.
I did a lot of shopping with multiple brands and even bypassed two other Kia dealerships because my co-workers highly recommended them and I AM HAPPY they did!
Total time in dealership today was from 10:00am-3:50pm. This time was more around me asking so many questions and not a delay in anything they did.
I WILL be back for my next car and if you’re in the market for a car I suggest you visit Destination Kia!

Avoid at all costs!
Brought in car#1 for an oil change and NYS inspection. I was told the car failed inspection because the treads on the tires were too low, so the tires need to be replaced. According to their own records, tread depth was measured at 2/32. According to NY State, tread depth of LESS THAN 2/32 fails inspection. So it looks like I may have spent almost $1000 when I should have had the opportunity to shop around. Their excuse: the technician probably measured it at less than 2/32, but their report only includes one measurement. Also worth noting that this was a 7am appointment, with it noted that I was going to wait for the car. The car wasn’t even looked at until after noon. In fact, despite offering 7am appointments, the technicians don’t arrive until 8am.
Brought in car#2 for an oil change and NYS Inspection. That actually seemed to go well and I was out the door and on my way in 90 minutes. Until a week later when the check engine light went on. Scheduled another appointment and brought the car back. Day 1, the car wasn’t touched at all. Day 2 they figured out the code and concluded I needed a new gas cap. But realized at the end of the day that they should actually run a test to confirm that theory, and it was too late in the day to do that. Finally day 3 they figured out run the test and replace the cap. $100. And 3 days. Just to replace a gas cap.
And all this on top of previous issues when I bought both cars (on the same day.) These guys are dishonest (potentially fraudulent) and will rip you off at any opportunity.

I recently leased a new car from Chris at Destination Kia, and the experience couldn’t have been better. From start to finish, Chris was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely focused on making sure I found the right vehicle for my needs and budget. He took the time to walk me through all of my options, answered every question thoroughly, and never made me feel pressured at any point.
What really stood out was how smooth and stress-free the entire process was. Chris handled everything efficiently, kept me informed every step of the way, and made what can often be a complicated experience feel easy and even enjoyable.
If you’re looking for someone who is professional, honest, and truly cares about their customers, I highly recommend working with Chris at Destination Kia. I couldn’t be happier with my new car and the overall experience!

Public Service Announcement / Customer Warning
After more than a year of maintaining an open case and enduring what has been, without question, the most unacceptable customer service experience I have ever encountered, I feel compelled to issue this formal warning to others considering business with Destination Kia.
Shortly after purchasing a brand-new vehicle, I returned it due to rail dust embedded in the clear coat, requiring correction. Subsequent visits revealed a pattern of ongoing issues, including:
• Repeated failures to properly address and replace moldings
• Inadequate repair of a visible scratch (initially masked with a paint pen rather than properly refinished)
• Multiple recalls handled improperly
• False claims that parts had been replaced when evidence showed otherwise
• Misrepresentation of the vehicle’s location and status (e.g., asserting it was in the body shop while photos confirmed it remained stationary in the parking lot for a week)
Additionally, the dealership provided substandard loaner vehicles—one heavily odored with marijuana and cigarette smoke, and a replacement with a non-functional seatbelt—demonstrating a clear disregard for customer safety and basic standards.
The final unacceptable incident involved grossly inadequate repair work on the aforementioned scratch, prompting escalation to Kia corporate. Despite nearly a year of involvement, corporate assurances that I could seek service at an alternative Kia dealership were later contradicted by a regional manager, who insisted I return to Destination Kia without providing direct contact information or facilitating escalation.
While I remain satisfied with the vehicle itself, the consistent pattern of dishonesty, unethical practices, and poor service resolution has been deeply disappointing. Multiple individuals I know who have dealt with this dealership have reported similar negative experiences.
I strongly advise prospective customers to avoid Destination Kia and to carefully consider alternative dealerships for any Kia purchase or service needs. Protecting your time, investment, and peace of mind is paramount—choose accordingly.
