- DBDesi BeverageNov 17, 20252.0I called on a Friday because the bulb i replaced on my headlight was out again and when i looked and the socket was damaged. The lady said 2pm was too late to bring it for same day. We agreed Monday morning. Over the weekend i purchased the new socket. I noticed it should have been plug and play but it was wired in. I wasnt able to replace myself. I gave the parts to the mechanic on monday. He said he would fix. I wasn't given an estimate. They changed me $199.00 for the repair. I called a little after leaving because $199 seemed high and i felt taken advantage of. They seem like nice people so i called and asked. They told me i had signed initially agreeing to 199 per hour diagnose time. I didn't realize i was paying a diagnosis labor, to me the issue was obvious and i brought the parts. I did not receive a written diagnoses or a verbal estimate before work was done. They said 199 when the work was complete. I couldn't say no thank you to work already done. They said that was a fair rate. I just know if i had a choice i would have not went ahead because i couldnt afford that. That was most of the money i had saved for rent. I already missed all the money this weekend not dashing in the evenings because the headlight. I cant afford but it was already done. Be careful i thought i wasn't paying diagnoses labor because we knew the problem.
