Strickland Brothers in Selma was extremely busy. Every bay was filled with vehicles. Many other vehicles were waiting to be serviced. I was directed where to park and went to the waiting room. My NC State Inspection was completed quickly and efficiently and I was on my way in record time.

MR. Russel Sims was one the best customer service experts I have ever met. He went above and beyond. He should be a manager and giving a full time high position. Very rare to see someone like him these days. Excellent service . Full oil change service.

I have going to Strickland Brothers along time. I like the way they explain everything to me. Before they do anything they always talk to me first. They are always thinking about their customers and the best for their vehicles. I gets my oil change on time and if I need to get anything else, they always let me know. I only allows them to check anything I need done.

I brought my vehicle in for a state inspection. The car is less than six months old, garage-kept, and had no issues when I arrived. The windshield wipers worked perfectly and did not cause any blurring prior to the visit.
During the inspection, I was told the vehicle failed due to the windshield wipers and was encouraged to replace them. After leaving, I tested the wipers and noticed—for the first time—the windshield became momentarily blurry when washer fluid was applied. The blur cleared within seconds but only started after the inspection, which was concerning.
When I asked if the car had failed and whether I owed anything, the employee first said no, then returned moments later to say I owed $12.
I asked for the manager’s name. He said he was the manager, then claimed the owner’s name was on the door, which turned out to be false. I later learned the owner is James Bell. At the time, he couldn’t provide contact information and declined to look it up.
I believe in supporting local businesses, but that depends on transparency, consistency, and respect. Failing a nearly new, garage-kept vehicle over wipers made me wonder if this is standard practice or how some customers are treated. I can’t say whether gender played a role, but it crossed my mind.
I encourage others to ask questions and document conversations. Customers deserve honesty and accountability. I will not be going back!
