Took my new-to-me car with still just 30,000 miles on it to them for an oil change. After one kid has broken several push pins to completely remove the skid plate, another came out & said "hey, you know those are made to fold down, right?" The first kid said it was ok, bc he had a thousand push pins, that they were "made to break. Sometimes". I silenty wondered if they don't have a push pin removal tool, or if he was just being lazy in not asking someone to hand him one. IMMEDIATELY after leaving, I realized I never saw the guy go after my new push pins, & I never heard him ask someone to bring him some. I got out. Sure enough, I could only see around a dozen of the 20, & still multiple pins were now missing. I specifically decided against changing my own oil earlier today, AS I GOT UNDER MY CAR & REALIZED THAT I'D HAVE TO TAKE OUT ALL THOSE PUSH PINS JUST TO GET TO THE DRAIN PLUG. It is the only reason i chose to pay for an oil change today. THERE WERE NO MISSING PINS. So, I went right back. I explained that my plate didn't even look lined up correctly now, that the holes were no longer aligned. I said I had a pin removal tool at home, & told them that if they thought they'd have to take them all back out to get it aligned, that I wouldn't mind just using my tool at home if they could send me with a few pins. These same employees told me "No, it's ok, we got you, just pull back around". I thought that was pretty cool.... BUUUUT ! ! ! SURE ENOUGH, THEY PUT PINS IN THAT FIT THROUGH THE PLATE, BUT WERE WAY TOO BIG TO FIT INTO THE HOLES THAT WOULD ACTUALLY HOLD IT ON. NO WAY IT WASN'T OBVIOUS, THEY WERE PUSHING THE SKID PLATE DOWN, & CAUSING IT TO BOW & BUBBLE, ALLOWING WIND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO CAUSE STRESS & CRACKS UNTIL IT BROKE OFF. I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THESE 2 ACTED SO COOL TO MY FACE, YET LIED TO MY FACE, ON 2 SEPERATE OCCASIONS, WITHIN A 10 MINUTE SPAN... AND LET ME DRIVE OFF, KNOWING THEY HAD LIED TO ME, TWICE ! Well, technically, maybe the one who actually broke the pins to get to my oil pan is the only one who knew he had lied to my face the first time. I think both management & prospective customers should know they've got people in there who will lie to your face, over easily fixable situations, even when given an out, and then let you drive off... as if it's funny to do so.
Edit.... I've realized now that management did attempt to reach out to me, so that's a positive. It's not their fault. I don't want to hurt someone's business, especially when someone in my shoes didn't get back to them. To be continued...
