The business and the salesperson were dishonest about several details in order to make the sale. It was our first experience with Camping World and it will be our last.
- LHLane HapkeOct 5, 20255.0We were on a road trip from Colorado to and from Great Smoky Mountains National Park when we had a high temperature tire alarm go off and the trailer brakes were intermittently not working while we we on the interstate heading to our next destination in Memphis, Tennessee. We pulled off to let things cool off, and we called Monica Davis, The Lead Service Advisor at Camping World in Olive Branch, MS. It was 3 PM on a Saturday afternoon and knew that it would be a long shot if she could get us in that day, but she said to come on in and they would see what they could do for us. We were about 30 minutes away and got there safely. As soon as the Service Manager, I believe his name was Joey, was freed up from the customer that he was helping he checked things out for us and didn’t find anything serious and was able to get us back on the road within about 90 minutes from the time we arrived with no charge for their time! The diagnosis was that we just had been on the interstate for a longer period than normal and that the brake pad on that wheel might have been dragging a little more than normal. He said that it might or might not happen again, but if it did, we could just pull over to let the tires cool off in order to make it back to Colorado and prevent a major delay in our trip. While it wasn’t an absolute certainty that we would not have further issues, it was nice to have an experienced mechanic’s opinion that it wasn’t likely a safety concern and that we could continue our trip without significant disruption and likely get home before having a more thorough check done if necessary. That was a week ago, and we haven’t had any more alarms or issues with the brakes. Thank you Monica for saying that you could work us in on a Saturday a few hours before closing time, and to Joey for checking things out and determining the likelihood of there being a safety concern, all for no charge!
