Estimate was $1600.00. THANKFULLY I listened to my friends and went to two other shops for a second and third opinion and was told all I needed were brake pads. A friend replaced them for $40.00. Both shops also noticed that what I actually need are new bushings and an alignment. Please keep in mind that I took it in for an oil change and an estimate which ended up costing me $185.00 because they had to remove and replace my locking lug nuts to give me the estimate (which I couldn’t find the key for). Needless to say, I will NOT be taking it to this shop for the repair. I don’t know anything about cars and often find myself at the mercy of my mechanic. I’m new to Springfield and was hoping to find a reliable repair company that I could depend on for future services. While I don’t mind paying well for good service, I do mind paying for unnecessary repairs. Again, they were very nice. The waiting area was clean and well appointed. Maybe their mechanic saw something two other repair shops and my friends didn’t? Maybe their mechanics adhere to a different standard than others? Whatever the reason, I’m off to find a new repair shop. I’m praying this kind of service isn’t a trend in Springfield.
