Went to Dobbs because of a tire issue.. William greeted me and took great care to listen while I was explaining my issue.. he knew instantly what it could be and reassured me it wasn't going to hurt my wallet...he was professional and polite and also very funny, which I appreciated...job was done in less than an hour and a half and Jay, the manager, offered me a great deal for my next visit...I love that neither William or Jay talked to me like I was a dumb woman who doesn't understand about cars... very pleased, and will be a customer for the foreseeable future...thank you, Dobbs...

I chose Dobbs in Maplewood to install new Goodyear tires because they were listed as the top recommended shop by Goodyear. Unfortunately, what followed was a month-long ordeal that left me frustrated, out hundreds of dollars, and still unsure if my vehicle is safe to drive. I dropped off my truck the night before the appointment and left the keys as instructed. When I picked it up the next day, I immediately noticed a scratch on one of the wheels. I brought it to the service manager’s attention, but he dismissed it outright and told me to leave. On my way to work, I felt pulling and vibration. At work, I noticed excessive brake dust on the same wheel and called Dobbs. The same manager again denied any responsibility and hung up. I submitted a contact form through their website and returned to the shop. They claimed nothing was wrong and insisted the vehicle was like that when I dropped it off. The next day, after driving on the interstate, my truck slowed dramatically as if the brakes were engaging on their own. A nearby shop diagnosed locked-up brakes and said the lug nuts had been over-torqued—by 70%, exceeding 200 ft-lbs. They advised I return to the original shop and speak with a manager. Trying to give Dobbs the benefit of the doubt, I returned. The manager again denied any issue and said it was probably just part of the tire break-in. He also casually mentioned he was looking forward to the weekend because he “doesn’t like dealing with people,” and sang a bizarre song about punching a kid in the face. I told him I didn’t want to be there either—especially if “dealing with people” meant dealing with me, after returning four times to resolve the issue. They offered an alignment adjustment, which I paid for, hoping it would resolve the vibration. It didn’t. The problem worsened. Soon after, the brakes locked up again—this time on the highway, and they caught fire. I had no choice but to return to Dobbs, where they told me the entire front brake system was unsafe and needed replacement. I paid for new rotors, calipers, pads, brake lines, fittings, and a full brake fluid change. When I got the truck back, I checked the brake fluid reservoir. The fluid was black. I felt ripped off. I took the truck to another shop. They confirmed the tires had never been balanced—once balanced, the vibration disappeared. They also questioned how a brake issue could escalate so suddenly unless something was damaged during the tire install. At this point, I couldn’t help but wonder if something had been intentionally damaged to create an opportunity to sell me parts and labor. The timing, the denials, and the dismissive attitude all raise serious concerns. After more than a month of dealing with this, I’m still unsure if my truck is truly safe to drive. I regret trusting Dobbs with my vehicle and would strongly caution others to think twice before doing the same.

Had a leaking tire. Glad they were open on Saturday. They thought it would take about an hour to fix. I walked to a lunch place. Came back over 2 hours later and they had not started on my car. Waited over another hour. Disappointed with the wait. They did fix my tire.

I had a screw in my tire and it was 430 on Friday evening. I knew I had to get it fixed but who could get me in and out quickly enough before the end of the day? I called Dobbs and they said bring it on in so I got there around five and they close at six but they got me done by about 615 and it was only 30 bucks. Disaster averted, great job Dobbs!!
