I had my Nissan Altima transmission serviced. Arrived at my appointment on time. I waited no more than 15 minutes and service began on my car. Lady who checked me in and technician were very knowledgeable. The service was not performed without price.disclosure. I was given a choice of what service I wanted performed. After the service was completed, the technician explained findings and gave suggestions. Check out was easy. Very satisfied with the customer support. I will definitely do business with Joe Machens Nissan again.

I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue in November of 2022. I had no major issues with it until December 18th, 2025. I was on my way home from work, and with no warning or anything... the engine blew! This was a known issue and had a recall. I had taken it in earlier in the year and the female service rep. Said they don't have a fix for it yet but would send communication when they did. Fine, I went on my way. Well, I never got a letter, call, text, email, and no pigeon with a scroll either. I had to pay $183.00 for a tow truck to deliver the broke down vehicle to the dealership.
I called the dealership the next morning and was told by the same female service rep, her name was Tara that they weren't sure if they could give me a loaner and that the work might not be covered. Um what?!?! It had less that fifty thousand miles on it and was still under the power train warranty. It was going to be covered. I had to call into work that morning as I had no other vehicle. I was told by Tara that since I live outside of city limits they could not send a shuttle. I asked if she wanted me to walk from hallsville to the dealership in thirty three degree weather. I'm still in Boone County, so they finally agreed to have someone deliver a loaner to my house. That was like pulling teeth just to get that. The 2023 rogue was the second car I had purchased from Machens. I know, I know... two too many.
Anyway, I had the loaner and was fine. I just didn't feel comfortable with a new motor in the 2023 rogue. I wasn't sure if it would work right. So I decided to trade it in. I communicated with the salesman, Casey via email and text. We weren't able to come to a deal. Casey then texted me and said that had I been at the dealership in person they would have made a deal as they would not have let me walk out! Who in the world says that?!?!
So I ended up trading in the 2023 rogue for a 2026 Nissan rogue dark armor edition. Everything seemed fine. Then Nissan corporation denied my claim for a tow truck reimbursement. So I called the dealership, because someone is going to reimburse me. I didn't ask for the motor to blow in a cold winter night. I got the runaround from Shawn, Mikey, and Raphael. I was told that they aren't affiliated with the Nissan corporation. Like what?!?! I will admit by this point I was livid! I'm sure my tone and attitude were complete trash, just like the dealership. But as someone who works hard for their money and was a returning customer I didn't feel I was valued. Every single time I called the dealership last night Mikey answered the phone. He knew who I was and was not friendly and took his sweet time transferring me to voicemails, because someone was going to listen to me.
Oh... let's not forget that Mikey got mad because I called another dealership and checked on a vehicle. Last time I checked we are still in America and can choose to go to what ever dealership I want. Raphael told me that the 2026 is so new that they don't even have titles for them yet, and they would mail that to me along with the second key fob. They said they overnighted the payoff check on Wednesday and it should be there Friday. Well it never came. So I was out $250 for a car payment on a car I don't have anymore. Plus I have to pay the per diem each day from when I traded it until the payoff arrives. I bet they didn't even overnight it. I can almost guarantee that they won't get the title and registration paperwork to me on time either. So I hope they plan on paying the late fees for that. This entire dealership is nothing but a bunch of lying crooks. They will say anything to get you in the door then that's when their scamming and lying begins. I know one of the mechanics at Machens Hyundai and he said that they all know how bad Machens Nissan is. He said they are the absolute worst! Plus, who tells a customer that one of the employees has cancer and is gonna die any day now? While that is sad, and I am sorry to hear that it is not relevant to my situation. This place is a joke! Avoid this dealership like the plague!
