I recently purchased a 2026 Hyundai Elantra from McCarthy Hyundai and it was one of the smoothest dealership experiences I’ve ever had. Romeo helped me get approved fast. Credit is always a factor, but he made the whole process simple and stress free.
What really stood out is that this was the first dealer I’ve ever been to where I was truly in and out. No extra add ons, no upselling, nothing hidden. Romeo kept everything upfront and transparent and made sure I got exactly what I came for.
Highly recommend McCarthy Hyundai and especially Romeo for anyone looking for a straightforward and honest car buying experience.

I had the pleasure of working with Romeo today—let’s just say he’s a pro and really knows his stuff! I went in just planning to look around but ended up driving out in a brand new 2025 Hyundai Elantra that I absolutely love! In just 45 minutes, including the test drive, I closed the deal. Romeo was handling me and two other clients at the same time, and he managed everything with amazing professionalism. If you’re thinking about buying, I highly recommend chatting with Romeo. With his skills and persuasive approach, you’ll definitely leave happy—just like I did! Big thanks to Romeo!
My experience with this dealer has been nothing but a joke. I started looking for a car for my almost 16-year-old daughter in June. Salesperson Bradley reached out and has been texting me off and on since. In October, he texted me a car he thought would be a good option. This week, I decided I would like to move forward with the car. I submit an application, and then Bradley texts me and asks me if I will consider another vehicle because he does not think the car will get financed due to its age. But remind you he is the one who texted me, the vehicle. I told him I submitted my credit application online, so I would like to see if it will get approved. I got a text later on saying it was approved. He was only given me $500 for my trade, though. So the next day, I called to speak to the finance manager to see why I was being offered so little on my trade. He said he would look into it and then called me back and said they would give me $1500. Then he proceeds to tell me they got me approved for a 2017 SUV, but could not get the 2008 car approved due to its age. I said, well, that is funny because yesterday Bradley contacted me and said the 2008 was approved, so why can't we move forward with the 2008? He said I will have to look into this and call you back. I have yet to hear back. This took place on Wednesday. This place lies and will do whatever to try to upsell more expensive vehicles. One day the 2008 was approved and able to be financed, and then the next day, magically, the car was never approved for financing. How is this possible? Because they just care about making more money, not making a sale that will work for the customer.

My Hyundai is only 3 years old and lives in the garage when not being driven, but the first time I take my car in for an expensive fix on a problem it was having they admitted it should be covered under the warranty, but they were not going to honor the warranty under the sketchy excuse that my car had taken in too much dirt while driving around on the streets, roads and highways and wanted to charge me $600 to fix something that was under warranty. They furthered their sketchiness by saying it is recommended that you vacuum the underside of your car. ?!!!?? They actually said that. My car is probably 3 inches off the pavement. No one is getting an arm or a vacuum on the underside of my car. SMH. This is wrong and has ruined my confidence in Hyundai. Sad and disappointing and this fight is not over.

UPDATE - I appreciate the response to this review howeverI still haven't been contacted, and I have reached out to Ryan Foster with no response. I know I have the correct email because we have corresponded before.
TL;DR: I bought a used 2023 Chevy Bolt EV in person for what I thought was $15,500, but the dealership quietly applied the $4,000 federal EV tax credit to my down payment without telling me. Because of that, I effectively paid $4,000 more than I expected. I was counting on claiming that credit myself and didn’t realize they included it as a part of the price. I never got the required IRS paperwork, and months later I still don’t have answers or a resolution.
I bought a 2023 Chevy Bolt EV from McCarthy Auto Group in Blue Springs on July 23, 2025. My brother knew that I was looking for a used Chevy bolt and found this one online. He texted me about it and I called the dealership to make sure the car was available, asked about the price, and went in the next day to buy it. I dealt with everything in person, I never looked at the online listing.
They told me the car was $15,500, which seemed fair, and I agreed to that price. At no point did anyone mention anything about a $4,000 federal used EV tax credit being built into that number. We weren’t told, shown, or given any paperwork explaining that the price already included a credit that the dealer would claim from the IRS.
After the sale, I later discovered on the contract that the car was actually listed at $19,500, and they had added $4,000 to my down payment line to make the math work out. It wasn’t labeled as a tax credit anywhere. The total came out to exactly what I expected, so I didn’t realize what had happened until I got a letter from the IRS weeks later saying I had “elected to transfer” the $4,000 credit to the dealer. Again, this was never discussed or explained to me by the dealer.
To make it worse, the dealership never gave me the required IRS time-of-sale report which they are legally supposed to provide within three days of the sale. I’ve been emailing the dealership since August 16th. I’ve also spoken with their general manager Ryan Foster, who said it was escalated to their corporate office. It’s now been over a month since then, and I still haven’t had a response from corporate or any kind of resolution. The dealership claimed that the online listing clearly stated that the tax credit was a part of the price, but since I purchased the car in person I never saw the online listing.
Additionally the Dealership added a $1000 extended warranty to the vehicle that I declined. I specifically remember asking about that line on the buyer’s order, and I was told it was not something I had to pay, but that it had to do with a free insurance deductible. The dealership did cancel the warranty after I complained, but I am yet to receive a refund for the $1000 (they did tell me it will take a few months, so I am still expecting to get it, I just haven’t received it yet). I appreciate that they fixed the situation, however it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
I was initially very happy with the car buying process from them, I like my car, and they were very kind and professional. I was also initially convinced that they would resolve this situation quickly. However it has been a month since I was assured I would receive a response from the Chief compliance officer, and I still haven’t heard anything. I have followed up six times with no success. I will update this review if anything changes, but I’m giving them one star for the lack of communication and transparency.
I would really urge anyone buying an EV here to make sure you understand exactly how the tax credit is being applied, and insist on getting all the IRS documentation before signing anything. I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through this situation.
