I drove 4 hours there to buy a used motorhome with check in hand and was very disappointed. They couldn't get the furnace running and the auto-level jacks didn't like the cold. Both fron fenders were broken and held in place with tape. Three of the basement doors had broken latches so they wouldn't latch. I was surprised they didn't tell me the furnace doesn't like cold weather too. All they wanted was to get me in the office to get the paperwork done ASAP. They obviously didn't go through the camper to make sure everything worked. One star is being generous.

We should give this place zero, but it’s not an option. We bought a camper from them five months ago. We brought our camper in to a nearby dealership and have been informed that the slides are all waterlogged and we can’t open them up. When we called and informed them of this because it wasn’t disclosed to us at the time of the sale (the waterlogged slides), they said “you had a chance to walk around it and look yourself. You should have noticed it”. This managers name was Zack. We are so disappointed and want to warn people of the sneakiness this specific Camper World is doing to people. BUYER BEWARE! Unfortunately, we don’t have the knowledge and experience with campers to have been able to catch this and now we are very discouraged with Camper World and their unprofessionalism.

I've been looking for a truck bed camper for some time now, I live in Michigan and they aren't common over here, so when I found the exact thing I wanted 11 hours away, I up and drove to go get this camper. Upon arrival, it was like nobody cared that u was there, the salesman I worked with was hardly around and I waited like 2 hours to even start any paperwork. Then camper loading, I go to Las the camper into the bed, batteries are dead, tail lights don't work, and its missing the bolts to attach the brackets. Followed by me fixing light and jumping the camper battery just to get it into my truck. On the drive home, I stopped to camp for the night where I found that my 30 amp plug was damaged and I couldn't plug into shore powers, I also found they didn't drain the black tank and there was still very old yellow water in the fresh water tank. On top of that, the furnace made some awful noises, the awning opened and then wouldn't close, and the batteries still had not taken a charge fron the 6 hours of driving. Thank God I bought a warranty, I took it to my local dealer where they found tons of problems, including a water leak from one of the skylights, AND A PROPANE LEAK! I literally could've died in my sleep because of the stupidity and lack of care coming out of this camping world. They also found my fridge leaking, my taillights had mice chewed damage, the hot water tank doesnt work, and all my lines had to be cleaned and sanitized due to the lack of effort out of this camping world. I would not recommend this place to anyone, what a nightmare this has been for me.

To anyone considering doing business with Camping World of Monticello, Minnesota: I am sharing my experience as a long-time Camping World customer who has purchased multiple RVs over the years. My most recent purchase—a 2022 Jayco Red Hawk 31F—was intended to be our dream RV, equipped with specific features such as country cabinetry, auto-leveling, solar power, and an undercarriage package. The sales representative confirmed with the originating dealer that the unit included all the features we requested. However, when it arrived in Monticello, several major features were missing. To address these discrepancies, the dealership provided a $5,000 discount for the missing auto-leveling system, installed the solar panel, issued a $250 gift card, paid for a five-year Good Sam membership, and included an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty at no cost—assuring us that “everything in between” was covered. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true. Service and Warranty Concerns After an insurance-covered repair for rodent damage, we began experiencing additional mechanical and electrical issues, and this is where the problems escalated: Air Conditioner – The rear section of the RV was not receiving airflow. We were told this was a manufacturer defect and therefore not covered. We later discovered the RV had a prior owner, despite being sold to us as new. Awning Failure – The repair was covered, but we were never provided an explanation for the cause. Camera System & Power Mirrors – Both stopped functioning. Camping World claimed it was due to a single fuse—despite the fuse testing good—and charged more than $800 to replace it and tape an air panel inside the AC. No root cause was investigated. I brought the RV in multiple times with no meaningful resolution. Repeated requests for a call from the General Manager went unanswered for more than two weeks, and only occurred after I escalated the matter to Camping World corporate and Jayco. The proposed solution was simply to bring the RV back for yet another attempt despite three failed prior visits. Unresolved and Poorly Addressed Issues Water Damage – A failed valve flooded the rear of the RV. Although the valve was replaced, no one checked for hidden water damage or mold. Shower Drain Defect – The trap separated during normal use, repeatedly flooding the area below. Because it was deemed a manufacturer issue, it was not covered. I reinforced and repaired the shower floor myself. Electrical and AC Problems The AC diverter was “repaired” with tape, which is not a long-term fix in a moisture area. I ultimately purchased an aftermarket part for under $100 that permanently resolved the problem. The bathroom outlet continues to trip the GFI with minimal load, and no one at the dealership evaluated the issue. A suspected condensation leak above the cab went uninvestigated even after I specifically explained the likely cause. Awning Wiring – Although the harness was replaced, I questioned why given our prior electrical issues. The standard diagnostic charge quoted (around $1,000 just to trace continuity) was excessive. Summary From the initial misrepresentation of key features, to the lack of communication, poor workmanship, repeated warranty denials, and failure to investigate issues thoroughly, this experience has been extremely disappointing. We were misled at the time of purchase and repeatedly ignored afterward. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Camping World of Monticello, MN. Very unsatisfied, Mark Theis
