The actual windshield install is fine, but Safelite has some problems to resolve. We made our reservation online and included the VIN. When my son arrived for while-you-wait, they told him they couldn't do it that day. No explanation, no apology, just "we can't do it today." The online quote was $420 which seems fair. On the morning of the rescheduled drop-off, I got an email with a "Pre-authorization" form that had a price of $800. In the details, I saw that they listed the part twice, the labor twice, and a "recycling fee". I called the local number listed on the form but it went to the national phone bank. After many AI prompts, I reached a human who told me that she "thought" that because of the rescheduled appt, they had to add the glass twice but it would be resolved at the time of pickup. When my son went to pick up the car, the employee asked to talk to me and said that because of some software problem, he needed my credit card info again. I had already seen the charge for $420 so I was hesitant but he assured me that I would only be billed once. A few minutes later, a charge for $403 went through on card. Another call to customer service and more AI agents. Within an hour, there was a credit of $420 leaving the total cost at $403. It all worked out, but that was a lot of effort on our end.

Spot is a little bit out of the way but that's to be expected. The gentleman that worked there were amazing and had great customer service skills and showed really good patients. They were really good at communicating and explaining everything in detail in a way that would made logical sense. The young bros at the front desk could speak up a little bit louder though that would be helpful. Definitely the go-to spot to get your windshield fixed.

We had a mixed experience. The Rockville store could never fix the solution with an aftermarket windshield and recommend we use an OEM windshield. The OEM windshield was sent to Frederick instead of Rockville. The Frederick store determined it wasn’t the windshield but it was the sensor connecting the windshield to the car was broken. The Frederick store fixed the problem using the aftermarket windshield and new connector. I’ll recommend the Frederick store and not the Rockville store.

My technician was awesome. The whole process was easy and smooth from the moment I submitted the online service request to the moment I was notified my vehicle was complete. They are in constant communication which was amazing.

Go somewhere else, charged my card without doing the work and then did not honor an appt to actually install the glass 3 days later. Completely unprofessional.
