I purchased a used car from Sheehy Toyota in Laurel. Somehow, when the car was on the lot, it had ended up getting a dent in the passenger rear door which had to be fixed. So I was asked if it would be OK if they kept the car so they could put on the new door. I was also told that they had the door and it was just waiting to be put on which would take a couple of days. For the next week, I tried to firm up my pick up date. I only received vague text responses every two to three days. The following Saturday, after again receiving no response, I finally called the main line, and only then did I receive a text back from my salesman saying it was fine if I canceled the purchase. This was very upsetting as I really just wanted the car, but it didn’t seem like there was any sense of urgency or concern about my customer satisfaction.

Yesterday I visited Sheehy Toyota of Laurel (for the 2nd time) to complete the documentation for the sale of a used Silverado Eclipse. For the past two days, I had the pleasure of working with Sam Michael during this process. Hindsight being 20/20, I know now, that was a divine appointment. Sam is such a wonderful man of God & of character, which makes him to be an extremely professional, kind and courteous sales person. I had on my radar, 2 or 3 other vehicles (at different dealerships) to consider before making my decision to buy. But after meeting Sam, I believe my prayers for God’s direction was answered, thanks to Sam. Not to mention meeting with Mike D and Brian to close & complete the deal was the icing on the cake! I came to Sheehy Toyota of Laurel to buy a truck, (did that) but made a friend “for life”. I think I made the better deal. Thanks, Sam, Mike and Brian for your support in this process! When I’m asked about my experience, I will have no problem sending my family and friends to see you all. Thanks again, Sam. “You ROCK” Doug M Ps, If you need to hear more about my experience, feel free to give me a call, my good friend Sam has my number 🤩😊🙏🏾💯

Very disappointing experience at Sheehy Toyota of Laurel. I had confirmed pricing and an appointment with a salesperson the day before to purchase a new RAV4 XLE. When I arrived, the numbers were suddenly higher, including about $1,500 more in tax, additional tag fees, and an appearance add-on that was not clearly discussed before. When I asked to remove the add-ons, I was told the manager needed to approve it. After waiting about 10–15 minutes, they came back and said the vehicle had already been sold, even though I had just received confirmation that it would arrive in two days. Then I was shown different vehicles with about $3,000 in additional charges. The experience felt misleading and frustrating. I hope the dealership improves transparency and respects the pricing they communicate to customers before appointments.

Bottom line up front: I don't recommend doing any business with this dealership without consulting a trusted 3rd party mechanic. I brought a vehicle to this dealership for some service work. During their standard inspection of the vehicle, they flagged several additional items that needed work. They made every minor issue seem very serious and dangerous. I felt they were using scare tactics to get more business out of me. I am fairly car-savvy and realized things weren't that serious, so I declined the extra work. A few days later, I got a call from the dealership offering to buy the vehicle. Their offered price was very low. My impression was they deliberately used scare tactics to get more service work out of me, or a great deal on my car. This is a slimy business practice and did not sit right with me. I also had some service related issues, but they did right by me in correcting those things after some conversation. Their service team was polite and friendly.

I do not write reviews often. This review will be about service and support that I received, rather than sales. I had an unexpected and extended situation where my new car needed a new engine, covered under warranty. It was a long and patience-testing process, but I would like to thank various people for helping to resolve the issue along the month or so. David Jacobs: I normally do not interact with service advisors who go above and beyond, but he was one exception. The most important factors to me personally (active and *IN-DEPTH, TECHNICAL* communication were handled well. I'm not a mechanic myself, but I do value meticulous information when I ask about the status of my car, or why a certain part is acting a certain way, or even just letting me speak directly to the people working on my car so I can see it for myself. 11/10 man- genuinely appreciate this. Wilmer and Alec: (technician and foreman, respectively). First of all, thanks for working to get the car put together properly and well- it's driving with no issues at this time. Thanks for constantly trying new avenues when one didn't work as planned, and BIG thank you for actually talking technical with me to brainstorm solutions or explain issues, rather than just brushing me aside and being vague with me. I *MUCH* prefer getting into the technical nitty-gritty, rather than waiting around in the lobby on vague ETAs. And a big big shout to Wilmer for getting the car done earlier than planned- it was a massive surprise. I'll be back soon! Jacqueline Mays (Jackie): I very much appreciate the flexibility and sympathy you offered when you were brought into the loop regarding the extended duration of the situation. We appreciated the loaner, and I personally appreciated you hopping into the communication pipeline and calling me directly to update me on part ETAs and what not. Also appreciated the candy gift! Obviously you only tow your car into a dealership's service department when you have an issue- it's not something people look forward to. No one can really explain a 2023, 20k mile car self detonating itself, either. However, my interactions with these people is something I do not take for granted once it all came to an end, and I'm glad that I've met them. When I bring the car back just to have it checked on, I will specifically seek out everyone here. EDIT: Brought the car back for a break in oil change and to have it looked over. Specifically sought out Wilmer and David and I don't regret it. Quick service, good flexibility, and I appreciate being able to jump into the technical details with the person actually working on the car (Wilmer, regarding various oil viscosities).
