Should have known better.
We went in knowing which exact vehicle we wanted, test drove it, didn't even try to negotiate. It was a pleasant experience. Our salesman Seth seemed upfront and nice enough.
Now, here is where it gets tricky. Either he wasn't so upfront with us after all, or his service team is either incompetent or lying.
During the test drive, we noticed a slight noise from the AC/fan, which we mentioned to Seth. He said he would have service look into it, but it might be just some leaves stuck in there. According to their service department, that was it. Problem solved, right? All good. "There might be one or two more stuck in there". At first, it seemed as if the noise had gone away, but shortly after leaving the lot it was there again. Just some leaves. Because we were busy with work and life, we didn't immediately bring it back or had another service department look at it. When we finally did, it turned out to be a broken fan that would cost us $ 600. I contacted Seth about it, to see if they'd cover it. It was their service department who has either missed the defect, or lied about it being "just leaves".
Despite the fact that we were absolutely easy customers who probably could have gotten a better deal elsewhere, neither Seth, nor his manager Tyler wanted to pay this - to them, in relation to what I've paid for the car - small amount for the bill. Or offer anything else to make this right. We were baffled.
At some point, the manager basically accused us of lying, why he hasn't heard of this earlier ... Maybe because of incompetence of and/or communication issues between his staff and him?
So, beware. Like we said, we should have known better. After all, there is a reason why nobody likes car dealerships and car salesmen.
UPDATE in response to the business' reponse: Purchased August 7th, contacted Seth September 10th, after we took it to a closer, local dealership. There we found out that the problem we were told was fixed and would go away because it's "just a couple leaves" is not fixed; and that we were lied to by Romain. They were AWARE of the noise from the AC/fan. Their service was incompetent or incapable to fix it.
The offer to bring it back to Romain's service was towards the end of the conversation with the unpleasant, rude manager Tyler after we told him that they can expect a 1-star review.
You know what you did, Romain! Shifting responsibility and lying and denying.
You also forgot to disclose that the tire pressure sensor is faulty, so there's another reason why it's very obvious that you just wanted to get a Toyota off your Subaru lot as quick and easy as possible.

Absolute boondoggle! Scheduled to have a recall completed and have them look at the cargo light, while I waited was asked about an oil change and tire rotation for the work vehicle while I waited. I agreed, as I had rescheduled our clients from the morning. An hour later I was told they were done but had to reschedule the recall because they needed the back seat empty to do the work. Now I can either reschedule the already rescheduled clients and lose $500 of business today or come back for the safety recall this afternoon. Also they didn’t fix the cargo light. This is the last time the Subaru service department will ever get money from me again. I do not recommend them at all. Go anywhere else. Oh lest I forget, 3 employees now don’t have work for the day and won’t be getting paid.

I could not have asked for a better experience! My salesman Nick was very patient, while I went through the process of deciding what kind of SUV I was going to purchase. It took a couple of different test drives to solidify my decision and he didn’t try to rush me or pressure me into making a decision. He was very responsive anytime I reached out with a question. The process of buying my new Subaru Forester was very simple and speedy. Everyone that I dealt with was very friendly and professional. I would definitely refer anyone that was shopping for a Subaru to go to Romain and see Nick.
