  My girlfriend and I were in town for a wedding, and "The" David at the desk helped us out with our reservation. He was absolutely wonderful to work with and got us on the road in a beautiful BMW in no time. Cannot recommend sixt enough to Friend's traveling.

  I’m a Platinum Sixt member, and Sixt’s toll practices are deceptive by design. If you decline their toll service and choose to pay tolls yourself via pay-by-plate, Sixt pays the tolls before they are even made available to the renter and then adds their own service fees. This means you never actually get the opportunity to pay the toll authority directly—despite explicitly opting out of Sixt’s toll program. This has now happened to me twice. In the most recent case, the Illinois Tollway confirmed that Sixt paid the tolls prematurely. I brought this confirmation to Sixt’s attention, and they still charged me anyway. This is not a mistake—it’s a system designed to force service fees while pretending customers have a choice. Advertising pay-by-plate while intercepting toll payments is misleading at best and deceptive at worst. For comparison, this never happens at Hertz. When you choose to pay tolls yourself, you’re actually allowed to do so—without interference or surprise fees. Because of this behavior, I will no longer rent from Sixt. Renters—Platinum or otherwise—should be aware of this practice before booking.

  I tried to rent a specific car and was confirmed all the way till my rental that it was available . Showed up and was told they would “upgrade” me to a vehicle type I told them I didn’t want. I was then given a car at checkout that was better suited and again when picking up the car on my receipt they switched me again saying it’s “an upgrade” when it’s not acceptable and not what I said I could drive . They kept trying to convince me an suv is not what I’m getting then when I asked for the Toyota camera or the Volvo or Subaru crosstrek they had mentioned for me. After many attempts they still gave me an suv type claiming anything else would be a wait . Unacceptable and sad to know I chose to use sixt again after thinking they would provide me all the things they stated till it was time to take a car . I’m having to now try and return the car as much of an inconvenience on my trip and don’t see myself using them anymore .

  Amazing Service at Chicago Airport Rental! We picked up our rental car at Chicago Airport and had the BEST experience thanks to Dayo and Marco. From the moment we arrived, they were both incredibly friendly and super helpful. Marco helped us with all our luggage and immediately noticed that the first car wasn’t clean. He went above and beyond to switch it out for us right away. Dayo made sure everything was set up perfectly, including getting the GPS ready so we could hit the road without any stress. Driven by a great sense of pride and passion for what they do, they didn't take a tip from us despite our insistence—a remarkable can-do attitude. Huge shoutout to them for turning what could’ve been a stressful moment into a smooth, positive experience. Highly recommend this location!
